Well, a mid-season firing would be an embarrassment to Woodson almost equivalent to the embarrassment that he's brought to the IU program. t!t-for-tat works for me.

The problem is that Woodson needs to do this... but he's too busy counting his money and his chips at the hangout. Yeah, guys like Lewis, Reynolds and Fife are needed, but Woodson is cashing the big checks, and it ultimately falls on him. He's not done his job from day one in this regard...

I'd be very interested in hearing about this "initial promise". I've seen references to it, but have not seen/heard the story. Who in their right mind would have even considered such a promise to hire a hack of a never-was NBA coach to lead a college program (ANY college program, let alone a P4 program) with absolutely no college experience or knowledge of what would be required? Glass screwed the pooch a few times on his own, but at least he prevented (or forestalled) this train wreck on his watch.

Got word yesterday morning that my 94 year old mother has been moved to hospice, She's had a good, long life, but has struggled over the past several years with declining health - a broken hip, a couple of strokes and now diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer... I'd appreciate your prayers for a quick and peaceful end of life. As a family, we have known that this day was coming but it doesn't really make it any easier to accept. Obviously, I will be stepping away from here for a while, and traveling back to be with her and the rest of the family.

Ironically, Mighty Mike Woodson definitely sees himself as "bigger than the university". His refusal to do the job for which he was hired (recruiting, developing, coaching) are clearly evident. His refusal to do anything to help or assist the other athletic programs at IU are further evidence that he and his basketball program are superior to the rest of the Indiana athletic program. It's past time to toss this bum out on his @$$.

You're not an @$$ (or IF you are, you have a lot of us to keep you company :D ) But with Woodson, Buckner, Ferguson and the pockets (Cooks and Simons), logic does not appear to enter the equation... Apparently, the Parasite is still living a charmed life.

The cynic in me sees Woodson screwing over his replacement with offering a team full of "not ranked guys"... kind of a big middle finger to "the school he loves" on his way out.

The fan apathy is high because of apathy on the part of the administration. Bad hires... keeping bad coaches for 4 years or longer...

And Cignetti has shown the world what is possible... turned a historically crappy program around in a single year... the expectation has to be that basketball should also be able to rebound quickly... and with Lazy Mike driving the ship, we've not seen it over a 4-year period.

Not sure if I'm a member of the Cook, Simons or Ferguson families that I'm happy with my investment in this POS "coach". At some point they have to realize they're repainting a sinking ship.

Dolson has some capital of his own at this point...
