Very good point. Purdue's QB threw for 572 yards. That's almost 100 yards more than Ramsey has thrown in 3 games. Their qb averaged 10.4 yards per attempt! That certainly puts Ramsey's meager 6.3 yards to shame. But, I'll take the quarterback who wins.

A half yard? Wow! You can say "he just isn't" all you want but you're not right. We've seen him throw the ball downfield before. Idk if you close your eyes on those plays or what, but they still happen. You want to keep going back to what happened last season instead of how he's played this one. Probably because it's hard to complain about completing 74% of his passes and starting the year 3-0.

I'd like to see the playbook opened up too. The second half today would've been a good opportunity to do that, imo.

People keep forgetting that they played in a monsoon last week and he still completed 73% of his passes. Completed 74% of them this afternoon. I don't know how much more evidence some people need to see that he can throw the ball downfield. Every week we see him do it but their story stays the same.

I think he's improved a lot since last season. Definitely excited to see him progress over the next few years. Im ready for us to play a conference team so we can see where we're really at.

Ramsey is a very solid quarterback. Exactly what IU needs, imo. Completing 80% of his passes this half and averaging 7.2 yards a carry.

Think it's time to get rid of the narrative that Ramsey can't throw the ball down the field.

Especially not at any non-Purdue games. I have never heard fans make any Purdue-related chants at any game that wasn't against Purdue. That's the difference here. Chanting about a school when you're playing them makes sense. Chanting about a school every game, no matter who you're actually playing, is obsessive. Such an embarrassing article for Purdue.

Would it be accurate to say that this is an IU conduct situation and not a legal one? I guess I'm just surprised that criminal charges haven't been filed yet, given that it's been several weeks since the suspension was announced.

It's relevant to the topic at hand. IU was in the dumps for years for minors offenses while Louisville is already back bringing in top 100 players. A big reason for that is that they hired a good coach and we did not.

Agreed 100%. There was no reason to have been worse in year 3 than in year 2. That right there was a good sign that Crean wasn't the guy. It seems like his willingness to come when no one else would bought him a lot of good will that caused people to overlook his deficiencies for a while.

Lots of stuff on Twitter too. Signs seem to be pointing to him rejoining the team at some point.

Recruits aren't going to come out and say it's boring, we both know that. But I would be surprised if he was wrong. Recruits can watch the team scrimmage on any old visit. Hoosier Hysteria is our chance to really wow them and we should be doing everything we can to do that. Like when we had the recruits walk in one at a time so the whole crowd could cheer. That was a really good idea.

I don't know why Iugradman gets so much pushback on the things he says. In the vast majority of situations there isn't one specific reason why a recruit picks a school. It's usually a combination of things. So no, things like Hoosier hysteria being boring, the locker rooms looking crappy, or the dreaded 'drop ceilings' aren't the specific reasons why a recruit doesn't pick us, but they're all factors that go into the decision. Players want good coaching, they want good facilities, they want a good culture that they fit with. Him wanting IU to improve on things is just him realizing that the more variables in IU's favor, the better.

It's time to drag them into 2018 kicking and screaming. If we want to be an elite program then we need to be "cool". Tradition is great, and I don't want to do away with it. Just tweak it to give modern-day players what they want out of a program. I think Archie and the staff know this and have been taking steps to do it. The videos they've been putting out are great. Catering Hoosier Hysteria to the preferences of recruits is another thing we should do.

We should get a rapper to come perform. Kentucky had Drake a little while ago.

I'm in the latter camp as well, because like you said we've seen him make good throws downfield before. We've consistently seen conservative playcalling from the staff so I don't think it's because they doubt Ramsey's abilities. That just seems to be their approach. I didn't see the INT last night, but I've seen enough from him to know that poor decision making is rare for Ramsey. He's not Nate Sudfeld, but he's not Zander Diamont either. He's played 10 games so far in his career. He's thrown for 1,558 yards, completed 66.9% of his passes and thrown 15 touchdowns to 7 interceptions. The NFL isn't going to come calling with those numbers, but we don't need that level of quarterback. If Stevie Scott is legit then we just need a quarterback that can keep the defense honest and limit turnovers. He's shown himself capable of doing that. If we miss a bowl game this year I don't think Ramsey will be the reason why. It could very well be the case that Penix is better than Ramsey right now. If he is, play him. But we have a very small sample size for Penix. We've seen a handful of series against a conference USA team that likely didn't game plan for him.

My eyes are just fine. They've watched him throw 5 touchdowns in the first two games this year. He doesn't have a cannon but he has a serviceable arm that can make throws downfield when the staff opens up the playbook.

Interesting comments about Morgan Ellison. If he did what he's alleged to have done I'm not sure why it's an indefinite suspension instead of removal from the team. What are they waiting on?

They didn't, but they are so obsessed with IU that they're chanting "IU sucks" in the middle of a game against a MAC school they're barely beating.

I don't know why you're so opposed to IU improving facilities. Whenever it's brought up you mock anyone talking about it. Sorry that some people want IU to run with the big boys.

Archie has done a great job repairing IU's image in the state in his year and a half on the job. We're establishing ourselves as the premier team in Indiana. As long as Archie can deliver the results on the court I see no reason why this can't continue. We won't get every single Indiana kid that we want, but the days of chasing kids across the country while ignoring kids in our backyard are over.

Not me, I just get a chuckle out of reading their forums every time that it happens. Especially last summer after we got Damezi, they thought it meant they were getting Jerome Hunter, and then we got him too an hour later lol.
