Because Demar Derozan isn't a good player. Now they're free of his contract and can rebuild if Kawhi leaves next summer.
-
You're never gonna be a contender with Derozan as your best player, and his contract was really bad. I don't understand why the Spurs would do this though unless they just want to give Kawhi a middle finger by shipping him out of the country.

(2019) PG DJ Carton to Ohio State
Hoosierfan2017 replied to KDB's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Michigan lost him too, and they're coming off playing. In the national championship game. Not every player wants to play at IU, and that's not a slight to Archie. Just reality. We'll be fine. -
I think Forrester is going to be a really good garbage man starting his sophomore year. Lobs, rim protecting, cleaning up the glass. The sort of thing you want your big man to do these days, and the sort of big man it seems Archie wants. He might get spot minutes this upcoming year but year 2 is when I expect him to starting showing out.

It's like they don't realize how much the job market has changed in the past 30-40 years. A bachelors degree has become the new high school diploma, and it's a heck of a lot more expensive.

I was joking man. That's just one of my favorite lines I hear older people say when they're criticizing millennials because it shows a complete lack of awareness.
-
Stop being lazy and just work a part-time job in the summer to pay for school!

Trae Young is prime bust material.

De'ron was athletically limited before he tore his Achilles... I hope the best for him, but I'm of the belief that he's never going to be a meaningful contributor again.
-
Nah, but I'm not surprised in the slightest that you're a fan.

For someone who hates LeBron so much you sure love talking about him. It's weird that you stalk my posts and leap the second I say anything about him. I hadn't posted in this thread for a while and then when I did, bam! There you are, literally 2 minutes later quoting my post. Creepy.

This isn't even about LeBron anymore. The Lakers weren't gonna win next year anyway. I liked watching the NBA. It was a great league. Now it just sucks. There's going to be no point in watching. The Warriors aren't going to even be challenged. Even when LeBron was on his "superteams" it was never like this. They would beat the eastern conference all-star team in a 7 game series. They now have a 25 & 12 big man that could miss every game next year and still win a ring. That's not fun to watch.
-
When LeBron "stacked the deck" his team started Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony. You must REALLY hate LeBron to be happy about the league being so unbalanced that 29 of the 30 teams have zero chance of winning next year. There's no point in even playing the season. Now stop replying to my posts please. You're incredibly annoying.

What a joke. I want someone, anyone, to take golden state out. They're the most unlikeable team in NBA history. They had a close call last playoffs so they had to make sure to add another all-star so they wouldn't have to compete.

This sucks

Still a pretty underwhelming hire, especially since they didn't even look at other candidates. Just because he was a good coordinator doesn't mean he'll be a good coach. We'll see if he's better this year. I was not very impressed last year. That team shouldn't have missed a bowl.
-
I'm not saying they should have kept him, just that it was an option if his value was lower than what they were willing to trade him for. They didn't have to accept a bad trade.
-
Yes I do. From an objective standpoint, why should he have made things easier on the Pacers? If, say, three years ago NO had called up and said "we'll give you Anthony Davis for Paul George", they wouldn't have hesitated. So why shouldn't George be the same way?
-
If you're looking at it from management's position, then yes. But he didn't owe the Pacers any loyalty. It wasn't his responsibility to help them get a good return for him. He wanted out, he wanted to control where he went, and he didn't want a team to deplete their roster to acquire him. He did what was best for him. The Pacers didn't have to trade him. They weren't required to accept a "bad" trade package. They made the decision to do so.
-
I'd say he ultimately did the Pacers a favor so I don't think he sabotaged them.
-
He's not wrong though. Professional sports teams have no loyalty. They'll cut players loose in the blink of an eye. I don't blame guys for doing what they think is best for themselves.
-
I would donate to a "beat Golden State" GoFundMe lol. It doesn't even have to be LeBron, just someone beat them.
-
The Kawhi situation is interesting. If he stays in SA and signs the supermax I would love to see LeBron go there and play for Popovich.

The Cavs have several good young pieces I would've liked to see developed last season. Zizic and Osman both played well when given opportunities. I watched all 82 regular season games + the playoffs, and I agree on Lue. We can debate whether LeBron doesn't want a coach, he really is the coach, he doesn't want to play in a system, etc., but Lue is absolutely an awful coach. His rotations are terrible. His defensive strategy is terrible. His in-game adjustments are very bad. His strategy all season was pretty much ride LeBron for 40+ minutes a night and hope that's good enough.
