Ahh man, so many things that could be said, but saying IU Football sums it all up.

    Game Thread: 10/24 vs PSU 3:30 FS1

I have a feeling this is going to end in the most IU way possible. Hope I’m wrong.

He was reliable. You knew what you were going to get out of him. And he could scramble without fear of a season ending injury. Idk wtf this is from Penix today. Hopefully we can finish this off today despite his performance.

Threw for 371 yards and completed 75% of his passes last season against Penn State. Don’t want to relitigate all of that, but I think he was severely underrated by a lot of people.

    Wish we still had Ramsey.

We better pull this one out lol. We are catching so many breaks.

Well Allen isn’t any better at clock management than he was last year.

Penix is not impressing me so far. These guys are wide open.

Play calling is hella suspect early on. Have we done anything other than run it up the gut on first down yet?

    2019-2020 NBA Thread

I don’t think it’d be a negative for the Pacers to trade him, though. He’s cooked as a star level player, imo. He wasn’t replicating his 2018 season even before his injury. In 36 games in the 18/19 season, he was averaging 19 ppg on 52% TS (league average TS% is 56%). I’ll root for him to regain his old form, but I’m doubtful it’ll ever happen.

    2019-2020 NBA Thread

Bleacher Report was just reporting out what a writer for The Athletic claimed. And the Pacers writer for Indy Star tweeted this out.

Probably both. Texas is always ranked high at the start of the season it seems.

No one has said that the season would go perfectly without any hitches. There will be postponed games. The MLB has canceled some games. They could’ve easily thrown in the towel when the Marlins has an outbreak. Instead, they’re now a couple weeks away from the playoffs. Would you say “doesn’t exactly seem to be working” about the MLB? The chances of a winter season are 0, imo. They’re not going to play two seasons that close to one another. If they don’t play with the other conferences this fall there isn’t going to be a Big Ten season until fall 2021.

Coronavirus and Sports Only - PLEASE and THANK YOU

The player safety issues seem to be the driving reason for opponents of playing, and those just don’t hold up under scrutiny to me. We know that college students are very low-risk. It’s all the potential long-term effects. Yet, we know that football itself causes long-term effects. Players suffer long-term brain damage from football. We don’t let that keep them from playing, so why are potential long-term covid effects stopping them? Also, it’s not like players become safe if there isn’t a season. They know that they’re low risk. We see college students throughout the US partying every day. If anything, canceling the season increases the chances that they catch the virus. If you’re no longer at-risk of missing playing time if you test positive, you’re now more likely to go to that party or other social function. Plus, high schools have been playing for several weeks now across the country. I saw an article earlier this week that zero outbreaks have been traced back to football games. It seems to be working as well as you could expect during a pandemic in the places that have tried.

Oklahoma will be playing in front of 20k fans today while the Big Ten is not playing at all. Notre Dame is playing in front of 15k fans while IU and Purdue can’t play at all. Just a colossal failure all around. Thousands of high schools around the country have made it work, but a P5 conference can’t? Smh. I don’t really know how anyone can make excuses for the Big Ten at this point.

I’m watching a Marshall football game with fans in attendance right now. Meanwhile, the Big Ten threw in the towel and didn’t even try. Will there be cancellations? Sure. The MLB has had cancellations too. Yet they kept pushing forward. The Big Ten looks like a joke in the college sports world right now and you know that.

Coronavirus and Sports Only - PLEASE and THANK YOU

It’s so embarrassing that the Big Ten threw in the towel and yet other conferences with fewer resources are already playing. at least there’s some college football to watch.

I don’t see Trump claiming to have more influence than the presidents of the universities. But if the president meets with the commissioner and says hey, tell us what you need in order to have a season and we’ll make it happen, you have to think that that would have an influence on the presidents.

The Big 1G bet big on other conferences following suit and canceling. Now that they haven’t, they just look stupid. An FCS game has already been played so far. If the SEC/Big 12/ACC get in a game, I would bet money on the Big 1G starting its season too.

    College Bball Thread

Brooks thought that IU fans were too much on social media... It's a bit ironic that he's getting similar treatment from UK fans.

The athletes, just like most college students, are still going to do their fair amount of socializing. It's why I think canceling the season was so ridiculous. Those players aren't going to be holed up in their apartments by themselves, as evidenced by your post. Unless said player has an enormous drinking problem and it's all for himself, lol.

Warren better be hoping and praying the other conferences end up canceling if he wants to keep his job.
