I guess u hope it compares to the Michigan st. They are a top level program no one would argue that and in 2013 and 2014 recruiting classes had back to back years on the recruiting front that were not to the message board posters standards ( 2013-schilling(137) Ellis-(290), van dyke (nr). 2014-tum tum(117), Clark-(217 and transferred), Bess-(148). Michigan st still competed for a top 4 finish in big 10 despite a couple down years in recruiting. Stacked on paper. I don't see bridges back and from the 10 games I have seen live of jaren Jackson over the years I don't see him coming in a making a miles bridges impact. Just my opinion though. MSU might be stacked next or they might not live up to there paper resume. I willing to bet there are more out there then u think. There was over 600 transfers last year and 15 percent of them were grad transfer. I would guess if those 600 there are some misused big men. 2 top 10 programs relied heavily on the transfer rule this year and ended up not working out. Michigan st got Ben carter because they knew they would be limiter in the post unfortunately for Ben he blew his knee out in practice and then Virginia got Austin Nichols because they were really hurting for low post productivity. How do u know for sure the money was spent recruiting the 1 4 "star" and 2 diamonds in the rough? Maybe the staff only spent money on traveling to events and in home visits to the sacred 5 stars. And then the staff went ahead and called Evan Daniels, jerry Meyer to see which players weren't 5 stars. Then instead of using wasted resources they decided to just drive and spend their own money. I'm not sure I don't put stock into recruiting rankings like some on here do. But the fact is numbers wise shows iu has an average higher then any other big 10 team in the same 5 year period. Since iu doesn't recruit at the highest level like duke, Kansas or Arizona and u pointed out the headliners in the past classes, wouldn't the law of averages catch up at some point and we would have a class without an elite level talent? i just think team recruiting rankings can be deceiving 2013 we had the 4th "best"class and in 2015 29th best class. Would it shock anyone if in the last 5 years of big 10 recruiting rankings iu's average would be the highest.
