Moeller defeated Canton McKinley 57-52. The usual Moeller stattrack wasn't functioning today so all I know is he scored 17 pts. and had 12 reb.

(2022) - SF Alex Karaban to UConn

This afternoon's re-match of last night's mismatch against Proctor was an even bigger mismatch as New Hampton won 101-60. In the first 4 minutes of the game, Karaban scored 8 pts; had 3 reb; 3 assts and 2 stls. He played a total of 21 minutes finishing with 21 pts on 9-13 FG; 0-3 on 3s; 3-4 FT; 10 reb; 5 asst; 4 stls. He has excellent court vision and can easily finish at the rim with either hand. And as I mentioned in the previous post, he runs the court very well and plays good defense. Next weekend, New Hampton will play Kimball Union and hopefully KU will be a more competitive game for Karaban.

    (2022) - SG C. J. Gunn to DePaul

2 words describe this game -- butt and ugly. Lawrence North defeats Connersville 40-36. I watched the game on tape delay at 1.25x normal speed so it's entirely possible I missed some things but I didn't see Gunn make a single basket going 0-4 FG; 3 reb; 2 asst. It sounds like a couple of you watched so tell me if I'm wrong. I've watched Lawrence North play at least 5 games and it doesn't look to me like he has any integral role in its offense. He mostly seems to stand in one corner or the other and if he does receive a pass more times than not he gives it right back up. I'm not qualified to judge but it's hard for me to see him as a 4-star and the 14th rated SG in the country.

    2022 SF Tyrell Ward

DeMatha remains undefeated with an 89-77 win over Paul VI. Ward with 23 pts. on 9-18 FG; 1-5 on 3s; 4-4 FT; 10 reb; 1 asst; 2 stls ; 1 TO. Ward does not have an IU offer but may be a better overall player than is Rodney Rice who does have an offer. Rodney Rice with 13 pts. on 5-15 FG; 3-9 on 3s; 3 reb; 1 asst. He started the second half but spent a considerable amount of time on the bench and not due to any foul trouble. He did play the last 3 min. when DeMatha pulled away for the 12-point margin of victory.

(2022) - PF Lilly Meister to IUWBB

John Marshall lost to Rochester Mayo (7-0) 53-47. Meister (6'2") 19 pts. on 7-18 FG; 1-6 on 3s; 4-7 FT; 8 reb; 1 asst; 1 stl; 2 blk; 1 TO. Her counterpart on Mayo is a 6'3" senior committed to Drake U. and is a more polished player finishing with 25 pts. and 12 reb. Meister is a junior so has one more high school season and possibly some kind of summer AAU or other form of organized ball to work on her game. She's got to become more physical and learn she has to jump. As it stands now, she'll be a freshman for Mackenzie Holmes' senior season so we won't have to rely on Meister for major contributions the first time she steps on the floor at SSAH. It would also help her if she was surrounded by better teammates. Right now, it's Meister, Katie Hurt and a bunch of girls running aimlessly around.

Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball - The biggest news: The NCAA also will allow the MLB extra-inning rule to be used in 2021, a move that was expected. The player starting the extra inning on second base is the player immediately in front of the first batter in the inning.

(2022) - PF Tarris Reed Jr. to Michigan

I learned last night that Missouri high school basketball uses a running clock anytime in the second half the score differential reaches 40 points and remains a running clock even if the margin subsequently falls below 40. In the 3rd Q, Chaminade did that to Trinity and went on to record a 77-35 win. Reed played less than 20 minutes total scoring 23 points on 11-14 FG; 0-1 on 3s; 1-1 FT; 8 reb; 2 stls; 2 blk; 2 TO. He made 11 2-pointers, 9 of which were dunks. Trinity had no one who could match up with him.

I can't answer your question. But you can look at his stats for last season and this season and at least on a per game basis his number of attempted shots is identical at 8 per game. But his average for his last 6 games is just 6. http://gcls.gclsports.com/bkPlayerStats.aspx?player=585695

Tonight's game a rematch with Elder, a team that beat Moeller 42-40 back on Jan. 15, in a game played at Elder. Moeller returned the favor tonight with a 56-45 win. Duncomb played 28 min. scoring 9 pts. on 3-4 FG; 3-4 FT; 10 reb; 4 asst; 1 stl; 3 blks; 2 TO. Evan Mahaffey played 31 min. 6 pts; 2 reb; 5 asst; 1 stl; 2 blk; 1 TO.

(2022) - SF Alex Karaban to UConn

Game was such a mismatch but I liked what I saw in Karaban. He's listed as 6'7"; has a good body for a high school junior and jumped center. He runs the floor really well and played good man defense. Teams played 16 min. halves with a 30 sec. shot clock. He only played 11-12 min. in the first half and only 8 min. in the second half. Halftime score was 39-19 and the final was 87-32 in favor of New Hampton. I had him with 23 pts. on 10-15 FG; 2-6 on 3s; 1-1 FT; 2 reb; 6 asst; 2 stls; 2 TO.
