Even at IUs worst Assembly Hall has been full I will give you that. That being said the media picked IU to be middle of the pack this year and yet we had a big portion of the fan base talking about winning banner number 6. What I’m saying is exactly what was mentioned before, if we had Michigan and Beileins success ( big ten champions ever few years, finishing top 5 yearly, long tourney runs but no championships yet) would Indiana fans be trying to run him out of town? Brian Snow said on a podcast that’s Archie could have a long career with his brothers level of success here if people let him. Will IU fans let him? My whole argument is as a fan base we need to realize we haven’t been consistently relevant in 25 years. I would take the level of success that Purdue, Michigan, and Michigan State have had over the last decade and I’m not sure if most IU fans will. I think Archie can build something here still

This is what really scares me about the program. I think IU can get back to blue blood status but seems like a good portion of the fan base has unrealistic expectations. If IU currently had Michigan’s level of success under Beilein (consistently at the top of the Big Ten, winning the conference every couple of years, making tournament runs, etc) i think that portion of the fan base would still be upset. I mean I want IU to win another title as much as anyone but I would kill for the current success that Michigan, MSU, and even Purdue has had over the last decade

Well I have read several times from IU best writers that the reason Archie didn’t overhaul the roster when he came in is because the APR seas so bad that kicking a bunch of guys off would’ve resulted in a postseason ban because of the APR

Does the APR situation allow for a handful of departures? I thought that was an issue

This!! Seems that there are players that a lot on here want gone but now that a few of them have announced that they are in fact transferring it’s turned into bash Miller and the staff. A lot of people seem to be looking for reasons to complain

Seeing more rumblings of Jamie Dixon to UCLA. My dream scenario would be him going there and Desmond Bane coming to IU as a grad transfer

I think they both would be easily attainable for the staff. Sounds like both would commit if given the opportunity. I’m just curious if there will be enough scholarships for both. For some reason both just remind of a classic type Indiana player and both seem to really want to be there.

The problem will be the 2021 class is loaded. There will be a lot of tough decisions. I wish Brown was playing up a year with Indiana Elite like Lander. It would give a great insight into how he handles playing with higher competition

Wish that IU had a few more scholarships available for 2020 to play with. I think Leal and Galloway would be two guys that actually want to wear the candy stripes and would be kids who would work hard and hustle. Right now I’d be surprised if the staff brings even one of them on

A big portion of the IU fan base is constantly ripping the team so why are we surprised when the media does the same? Purdue has a culture and a pattern to how they do things so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they are still really good next year. They lost 4 seniors/starters coming into this year and ended up making it further

Really like the idea of Lander playing up a year. Looking forward to seeing how this team does

I couldn’t have said it better. I’ve seen this happen with too many IU fans everyone from message boards to social media. They want tough nosed, hard working players over 5 Star one and domes but then nit pick about where recruits are ranked

Looks like the staff (Schilling in particular) has reached with some interest to recent Georgia State decomit Jalen Windham of Ben Davis. Opened up his recruitment after Ron Hunter left for Tulane. Yes he have to sit out but he’d have three years remaining of eligibility. He had a really weird recruitment from my memory. Lots of the bigger are schools were in on him until his senior year. He put up some good numbers as a freshman but I’m not sure if and how it would translate

I didn’t take it aimed at me directly but I read the three or four posts before you commented and no one was jumping off any ship about him. Two quotes from Indy area best writers, a highlight video and someone compared him to possibly Fitzner and Hartman. Again, I think you’ve made it a bigger deal than anyone else did hahah You are right that overall as basketball fans we all see a highlight video or see a stat line and all of a sudden hope that it’s a missing piece to a puzzle, but in the 4 posts about this kid I didn’t see any of that.
