The problem isn't even necessarily with the Facebook post itself (though it was bad), it's with the mentality Troy's Mom has in general. That's why the families do matter. Haven't you met a HS coach that couldn't wait for certain skids to graduate because their parents were awful?

Crean was trying to send a message to Troy. How does that message play if the players mom is undermining Crean? Now the player is thinking "I got screwed", instead of "I need to improve". What if that player is now complaining to the other guys that got benched. Now you have a cancer infiltrating your locker room.

It's just a bad deal all the way around. Parents need to support their kids coaches and teaches, not tear them down.

Well the coach has seldom held anyone accountable, they screw up time and time again, both on and off the court, and usually nothing happens.  We've very seldom seen him sit someone for poor play, Hanner sat 2 games for driving drunk and Troy failed multiple drug tests before he stood in the corner; that's not being held accountable.  Is it the players not playing defense or Crean not being good at coaching defense (he's not, at all, and it's inarguable)?  Sure they could be held accountable when they decide defense is the thing between neighbors yards but someone to hold them accountable and no one here does.
 
When the same problems exist over multiple years and show little to no improvement, it's on the coaches not the players.

1)  He recruited those players to play for him
 
2)  He continues to clap them on as they throw a pass into the 10th row.  He encourages them to take a contested jumper.  He urges them on as they play at a speed they're not able.  He benches players after they get hot while keeping players in that consistently get beat on defense.
 
3)  He might understand the game of basketball but is not elite in teaching it or holding his players accountable.
 
4)  When you see this kind of ball year after year who do you blame?

I think people are booing the 3 million dollar professional. Not the college kids. No one is going to boo the players.

Can Archie Miller recruit? Could he pull guys like Wilkes, and Scruggs ?
