Interesting that he chose not to participate in the combine games. I guess he's got plenty of tape for NBA FO's to look at.

Sometimes it's better to just let things shake out before we hit the panic button

47 minutes ago, Josh said:I just found out that I'm an insider! I hired a guy at work and his first day was today. We talked a lot in interviews, but today was my first chance to get to know him outside of a business perspective. Turns out he played point guard for Coach Cupps at Centerville! He was a senior while Gabe was in Middle School.
Coach Cupps had Gabe play with the varsity team going back to 6th grade at practices, so my new hire has played against him many times. Now I'm an insider, get it? I declare myself the poster with the utmost knowledge on our future PG.
I asked my new hire what Gabe's best qualities were and he said shooting and leadership. If he's wrong I'll be glad to fire him. In the meantime, just trust every word I say here. I'm your new king.
Sounds like something Homer would say

11 minutes ago, RaceToTheTop said:This was a Hunter Dickinson tweet from earlier today. If you take it seriously, it's him saying 'something good is on the radar' alluding to MM committing to Kansas. Knowing Dickinson, could very well just be trolling. Have to say that it would be a pretty big dick move to try to break the news that MM was committing.
Given his history with IU fans I wouldn't look into this too much. He's likely trolling.

I'm assuming wherever this kid goes playing time won't be an issue. NIL and getting him to the league in the best shape likely will be. Be tough to beat out these teams in NIL but Woody should have the leg up in the latter.

Just now, Bowhunter said:It’s just for one season. That gives us another 2024 recruit.
Big freshman classes are becoming a thing of the past. We'll still be able to add a few but I'd rather see impactful guys brought into the program to help THIS season. Can't lose a bunch of momentum as a program.

Just now, Hoosierfan2017 said:Weren’t there reports that the staff doesn’t want to use the 13th scholarship? Because if so that would mean he’s being targeted as one of our last two portal guys.
I hope those reports aren't true.

1 minute ago, JSHoosier said:I'd rather address actual needs, like scoring. Not a guy that'll spend 30+ minutes making sure the bench doesn't magically fly away, I'd use the scholarship on a freshman before I did that.
I wouldn't just use a 4 year scholly on some random HS player unless a top tier guy became available. I'm not over the moon about this potential pickup but he's a one year filler and gives us an experienced depth piece. As long as we use the other 2 scholly's on higher impact players this is fine in my book. I'll put it this way, if this is our 13th scholarship I'd rather use it on him than sit on it.

I think it's a similar train of thought. If you're so unstoppable in the paint there shouldn't be many 3's taken. I don't expect to see Flory take any 3's next year at the HS level because he can dominate the paint just fine.

Scouting report reads not to worry about him out there....well until now. Still not likely a high percentage shooter but you can tell he's working on it and it can be a thing for him in the future.

i will take this is step further since you can’t seem to let this go. I 100% guarantee and willing to put money that he is going to IU now all based on his social media.
How much you want to wager?
I'm not young and hip anymore but know enough young folk to know this is indeed true.

Rumors at this point for sure. But with any rumor, you have to ask why it exists. Haven’t checked his IG because I don’t IG like the young go-hards, so someone feel free to confirm.
Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appCan confirm, his bio now just says "athlete" and the IU post is unarchived and already filled with IU fans in the past hour.

Rim protection issue instantly solved. New lob threat who can also spread the floor and allow Reneau to do his thing in the post. If Woody and Co. can work their magic and put this kid in the top 20 next June that'll be quite a 2 years of big man development to show future recruits.

I have a lot of concerns how this kid would take Woody's style of coaching and as much as I hate to say it, how would he take the backlash from some of the fanbase when things aren't going well? You've gotta have some thick skin to play ball here.
Obviously the talent is there but I'll admit I'd prefer Shedrick if that's still a realistic option.

They can't believe that's a tech and I'm questioning how much basketball they've watched in their lives because that's a tech at any level.

“He’s a really good guy,” Doughty said of Bidunga. “The refs tried to keep them in the game in the third quarter by giving me two quick fouls. Bidunga got a lot of his points while I was out. Had to make him look good for the coaches, I guess.
Aaaand now I don't like him anymore, lol! I think Flory swatting him and outrunning him on the fastbreak for an and-1 slam probably impressed the coaches more than anything. Stay humble Mr. Cornrows.

Yeah I get why JHS and some others did, they're locked in as 1st rounders. I figured with TJD being in the 25-45 range he might want another opportunity to show out but maybe he likes where he's at and was more concerned with hurting his stock as you mentioned.
