Great atmosphere.  Loving how our team attracts larger crowds now. 

Likely my next to last post in her thread as she's announcing Monday afternoon and I have little expectation it will be IU.
Yesterday an 89-62 win over #4 ranked Montclair Immaculate.     33p;  8r;  7a;  5s;  1b

Last night, HSE lost its second of its last 3 games and their season record is now 18-3.  On the 16th, they lost 69-65 to Lawrence North.  Bounced back with a 76-72 win over Zionsville Friday night but last night but handily beaten by 74-58 by Center Grove.  HSE, LN and CG are all top-10 ranked regardless of the rating service.
Last night Center Grove controlled the game from the start and did a good job of keeping the ball out of Maya's hands and that of HSE's other offensive weapon Kennedy Holman and led 27-21 at haltime.  CG stretched the lead to 48-35 after 3rd Q and then the offense kicked in for both teams as they scored a combined 49 points.  
Maya swished a deep desperation 3 at the end of the 3rd for her 19th point.  She then scored 13 more points in the 4th Q to finish with 32 on the night.  After making the 3 to end the 3rd, she went 3-3 in the 4th to finish the night hitting 6-9 on 3s and they were all deep.  

Honestly I just want coach who's able to recognize what's not working.  There's nothing wrong with having the wrong game plan. but the stubbornness to not change something for the sake of pride and ego ticks me off.

But we are not just another basketball program.  The candy stripes and the ‘Indiana’ emblazoned on the back of the jacket still mean something.  Indiana fans will travel wherever the team goes and there are Indiana fans EVERYWHERE.  Indiana basketball still means something.  
There are a ton of fans in Btown right now that would jump at the chance to get a ticket to our next home game and to be inside the Hall.  We are all frustrated with our on court results over the years because we care and love Indiana basketball. That’s why we are not just another basketball program and never will be.
 
I disagree with the narrative about fans aging out.  Even if that were to happen, it wouldn’t be in any of our lifetimes that’s reading this.  There are too many grandfathers that have shared Indiana basketball with their kids.  There are too many dads that have shared Indiana basketball with their kids.  There are too many kids right now that go to bed crying after an IU loss.  Just another program?  Nope.

The great coaches all are able to adjust -- to personal, to game matchups, to league rules, etc.  To date, Mike Woodson has shown an inability to make such adjustments.

That’s what younger fans remember as the high water mark of IU basketball.  
 
It’s quite a step down from the 60-ish years that preceded it. But it will become the standard eventually. 

This is me. I’m in my late 20s. I didn’t become a fan until after the 2002 run, so I’ve never watched IU play a game past the Sweet 16. And heck, they’ve only played a Sweet 16 game four times during my lifetime. Crean, Archie, and Woodson have been the vast majority of my fan hood. I went to IU and loved my time there, but I moved away from Indiana and feel less connected to the school nowadays, in large part because sports have been in the gutter in recent years.  
I’m sure a wise guy will chime in with “you don’t care yet you’re still here posting.” Yes, I still post, but that’s about all I do. I like to ‘complain’ on here because I do still care, but I’m quickly losing hope. I rarely watch the games anymore. This team’s style of basketball is so ugly. The Empire Classic against UConn was a marquee matchup in MSG, but I didn’t bother making the quick trip into the city because I anticipated a blowout. That’s where the apathy sinks in. 30-40  years from now my generation will be the “donor class.” Will likely be harder to get donations from people who never experienced the ‘good ole days.’ 
It’s just very hard to see this program ever being anything more than what it’s been during my lifetime. A Coach Knight isn’t walking through the door to take over the program. 

I didn’t think Woodson would be fired.  Now, I do think he will be nudged out in one way or another.  The play on court is bad itself, but it’s the other extracurricular activities that the administration will take issue with.
 
All the technicals, flagrants, ejections, and not to mention the incident at Taco Bell and all the other incidents that have occurred.  I don’t know how he survives that.  If it was just poor play on the court, that’s one thing, but all these extra offenses will give the administration pause and I’m sure they are hearing about it from some very influential people.  Don Fischer calling this embarrassing is no small thing.

Because you still are employed by a university.  Who 50% of the students happen to be women.  The reality of the world is that the court system is horribly inept with domestic abuse. It might satisfy your needs but I guarantee you women will feel otherwise.  It just makes me so upset how there’s no perspective in life with some people.  Sports is not everything. And if it is to you , I’m sorry you need to branch out and diversify your life.  I’m personally glad I’m not rooting for a  SEC school and we actually have standards.
