  1. I thought Holtmann said he didn’t want to be in a fishbowl like IU. DePaul might be the best place for him.

We are a Marquette house, unless they play IU. Then it’s a house divided. But I like Shaka and will be pulling for them the rest of the way. Oh and everyone who plays Purdue.

    Transfer Portal w IU Interest

Welcome to the transfer portal era
  4. Never met him but my wife has. Her opinion is he is very smart and can navigate the politics of IU. Which leads me to believe he has a plan and is likely waiting until he can move on that plan. No inside scoop there just a guess.
  5. Yeah I get it. I just don’t relate to that type of thinking. Never have and never will. Nepotism is never the correct way to run an organization.
  6. So you’re saying Cal could have us in the top 20 5 times in a decade? When was the last time IU had that? Sign me up. lol
  7. I’d take Shaka for sure. Not sure he will leave Marquette though. I can see him there for the rest of his career.
  8. Im 42 and his playing days means absolutely zero to me. This might seem harsh but even players I do remember playing I wish them well in their lives but that’s the extent of it. I wouldn’t hire them for a job just bc they played for IU. And I wouldn’t hesitate to fire someone just because they played for IU.
  9. Ironically it’s a black eye to keep him. They actually have their logic backwards.

Its who I would have my eyes on as a mid major option for IU in a year or 2 if there isn’t a power 5 coach ready to come.

How many of FAU’s squad has eligibility left and BigTen quality?

I always forget about him. on that note Wade, Pearl, Beard are the only proven coaches that are poachable off the top of my head.

Yes. Guard play is still an issue for Purdue imo.

Dude got a knee so hard I felt it. Sympathy pain. Oof.
  15. I’m fine missing on May, not sold on him being the answer. Wanting a more proven coach like Pearl. Problem is those coaches are few and far between. Next year is going to be interesting. Honestly feel the best outcome now is we land a quality portal class and have a good year next year.

Michigan reporter tweeted out May chose Michigan over Louisville.

Maybe the NIL. Acceptance process is what it is and isn’t changing. They haven’t changed it for football, they won’t change it for basketball. It’s been a sore spot for fans for years.

    Pearl to Louisville? Lol

The issue isn’t typically being admitted, it’s the loss of credits Michigan won’t accept. They lost both Caleb Love and Terrance Shannon Jr because of it. On the football side of things they wouldn’t take online course work from a WR a few years ago, so that player went to Texas and just broke the record for the fastest 40 time at the combine.

Michigan basketball NIL is a mess and the boosters focus on football. If Dusty does well, I could see him being open to leaving for IU in the future. But Michigan isn’t a top job in the conference when they have academic issues for transfers and lack NIL funds for basketball. Tough job. Good luck to Dusty.

The main guy who covers Michigan said on Wednesday that UL’s top choice is May but it might not be Mays top choice, and he believed Michigan had a shot. When he says something like that and backs someone it’s typically from the AD
  22. Honestly, I think Crean would have been even better in this era. He knows how to navigate the portal and with Iu now financially backing the program he wouldn’t have had the big drop offs. All a moot point now and wish Crean well in whatever he does.
  23. Listened to a Michigan show this morning. Sam Webb has a show in Ann Arbor and is head of the Michigan 24/7 site, as well as the unofficial mouthpiece for the athletic department. His #1 candidate is Dusty May and said Louisville might have Day as their number 1 but UL might not be Mays top choice. The panel all agreed Indiana fans ticked we have Woodson and will let May slip away.
  24. Well Cal is a proven winner. Fire Woodson to get Coach Cal. No seriously, do it.

It’s ok, we have Woodson for 4-5 more years. Thats enough time for May to prove himself and get tired of UL.
