  1. Methinks the OP is unhappy that we haven't secured any of the top players in the state, not that somehow they are better because they grew up in Indiana.

Everyone that grows up in Indiana is better.  I thought that was common knowledge.  :)

  2. Heard true freshman Jacob Robinson has been impressive. Wilson mentioned that someone like him would have started from day one a few years ago. But with more depth this season, he will probably red shirt.

I think that sentence says an awful lot about how the program has progressed the last few years.

  3. Scores with the games. Sorry I haven't posted in a while or a long time really but it is almost IU football season and this is what I live for.... Weird Ik but those who have seen my posts know I'm more of a football fan than basketball #play13 and #coachhep oh and i add a front page heading

Southern Illinois- W (42-14) "sudfeld shines"

FIU- W (49-17) "Panthers tamed by stifling defense"

WKU- W (52-24) "Hilltoppers sent running for their hills"

WF- W (35-14) "knorr proves his worth"

OSU- L (45-38) "another almost scare at memorial stadium for he bucks"

PSU- W (42-21) "IU clicks after heartbreaker"

Rutgers- W (38-17) "Howard runs wild like tevin"

MSU- W (24-17) "defense finally overcomes"

Iowa- W (42-21) "8-1? Hoosiers clicking and turning heads"

Michigan- W (52-28) "maize and blue lose to hoosiers under that new guy"

Maryland- L (42-21) "look who's back the old Hoosiers crumble under pressure"

Purdue - W (56-21) "Turdue really stinks it up and IU fires back"

10-2.... Call me crazy i do not care. Sudfeld throws for over 3,000 and Howard rushes for 1,500 plus yards oh and that awful defense is top 30 in the nation. And we flip some 4 and one 5 star recruit.

Btw I'm at purdue for graduation.....pray for me lol already yelled go Hoosiers

There is medication for delusional tendencies.   :)

  4. You guys done this yet?

    http://www.isidewith.com

I am impressed with that poll  it ranked my top three in the order I would have ranked them:

    Sanders 81%

    Kasich 72%

    Paul 67%

I thought that it was neat that it showed in what areas I agree with the candidates.  For example on Sanders: I agree with Environmental, Healthcare, Social, and Immigration issues.

  5. 4 pages deep on a football thread... LOVE IT.

Hopefully during the season we will have some longer ones, but it will be because we are winning, not discussing if this is the last year for the coach! :)  Of course it is IU, so every thread we start concerning the two major sports turns into a "time to make a change at the top" thread.

  6. So he's against it?  I wasn't looking to jab at him or argue...I was just thoroughly lost.  lol

I think that is what happens when you really don't believe something, but you say it anyway.

  7. Bush talked himself in circles regarding education reform. Is he for or against Common Core? I was left confused on where he stands after his response.

He doesn't want to tick off the base.  He was originally one of the big supporters of Common Core (same as Walker)  However, when the base of the Republican Party turned against the standards, he has started pulling back on his support.

On at least this instance, he has shown himself to be a true politician and take his views off of polls, instead of taking a stand on an issue.

  8. Here's what the perspective of this 50 year old can state:

The world, and this country are in a far less dangerous place than 50 or 100 years ago. However, the ability to acquire information about the country's and the world's problems has absolutely exploded.

Compared to 50 or 100 years ago, wars are fewer, racism is less prevalent, famine has lessened, genocide and pure dictatorship is harder to find, slavery has lessened, and life expectancies are up.

However, all these issues still exist. We notice the problems; that's natural.

I agree the world is a whole less dangerous physically.  I do think the world is a lot more dangerous economically.  We have become a nation and a world of haves and have nots.  The United States used to have a thriving middle, not so much any more.

I am looking for a leader that is putting forth solutions for this.  I used to think the "market" would take care of the problem, but now I am thinking, as individuals we are too selfish, and there has to be some entity setting guidelines.

As a country we need someone that can convince both parties that we have to get our fiscal house in order.

  9. Dude from Wisconsin (already forgot his name, shows his relevance) is reading straight off his right hand man's notepad. "Durrrr I drive a Harley, have 2 kids, a golden retriever, and a white picket fence durrrrrrr".

Hey that is my dipS@IDIT  Governor you are talking about there...   :)

  10. Are there any liberals in this board?

It depends on your definition of liberal.  Based on what has passed for conservative beliefs for the last 10 years, I guess I am a liberal.  What I find incredibly funny from tonight, is all the times Reagan has been brought up.  The people on this stage would never be able to support Reagan if he were President today.

  11. I'll be the minority. I'm a fan of Trump. Not saying I'll support him but I don't think he's as bad as everyone makes him out to be.

Don't beat me up too bad for that! :)

Why beat you up?  Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how clueless it may be.  :)

  12. Myself, I happen to think Kevin Wilson is a pretty good coach. When you're around someone and you hear them talk about football, you get a pretty good idea to make that assessment. But being a good coach doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be able to step into a struggling situation and quickly turn it around. And if you don't have immediate success, you're always going to have someone at your door thinking that you need to move on or the university needs to let you go. I just think that's a short sighted view. The follow up question to that is always, "So how many years should he be given to turn something around?"  And unfortunately, I don't think there's a set answer to that question. I think every program is different. And I think a program that has had as little success as this one in the last two decades in clearly different in a multitude of ways.

Terry:  I think almost everyone agrees with you.  Where the question comes like you say is "How many years??"

I guess that is why we pay our AD so much money.  I personally have a lot more tolerance for the Football program vs the Basketball program.  :)

  13. I would think being in the B1G East would attract a higher quality candidate coach. Our division is right up there with the SEC West and PAC-12 South as the best in college football. If you're a coach who wants to quickly move up, you want a challenge of playing the best. Players want to play against the best to get noticed, the same should be for a coach. Playing in front of enormous crowds at Michigan, OSU, PSU and MSU, access to big markets in the East; the division is an enormous draw for a coach. If a coach is able to turn Indiana around in three to four years, he'd have his choice of any top job in the nation.

Even the worst SEC schools get the best coaching prospects. I think the same would apply to us in the B1G East. Honestly, I don't want a coach who wouldn't be thrilled by the challenge of trying to beat big names such as Harbaugh, Meyer, Dantonio or Franklin on an annual basis.

I really want to agree with your statements, but I find myself unable to.  I don't think you can compare IU Football to even the worst of the SEC teams.  Even the worst of those programs is a major upgrade from IU football.

If we had traditionally had even a minimal amount of success I would tend to agree with you, that playing in the B1G East is a draw for a coach. I love Indiana, but I can't see how any successful head coach, from a power conference, would even consider coming to IU.
