I've never understood this. Arguably our greatest Coach was not an Indiana guy until he became one. I don't care if we hire a guy that grew up wearing Black and Gold, or UK Blue. I just want someone that will win consistently, and will bring in players that won't sully the name of Indiana University.

Well, hell it was way too much for Stevens. When you consider the two men highest paid college coaches are not making much more, and they have both won multiple titles.

Indiana fans are going to soon change the term Rick Rolled to Billy Rolled or Brad Rolled It has been kind of fun watching the same irrational exuberance over this search.

That is the beauty of being 6 hours ahead. Just about the time the rumors really start flowing it is almost bed time for me. So I get to clear my head, sleep easy, and then wake up in the morning, and spend a couple of hours catching up on everything that was said. :)

What you say is very true, but if there is something like that in there. It still would have to be litigated. Leading to a court notifications so at least that would tell us something. :)

Well, I don't know about the lawyers part... For any kind of negotiations there are going to be lawyers. I would bet the circle is bigger than you believe, though. If the discussion is going on the Celtics have to be involved, and none of us know how many people would be involved on their end. Remember the saying Benjamin Franklin has been given credit for.... Three people can keep a secret as long as two of them are dead.

Out of everyone NOT named Brad I have seen on the list. Bennett would be my favorite! I don't think we would stand a chance to get him, but stranger things have happened.

This is still early in the process. Remember the last time. It was a done deal for Billy D, and the next thing we knew..... Before that it was a done deal and Tom Crean was announced. Before that it was a done deal and Kelvin Sampson was announced. I think we could be a long way from being done.

I think this is the mindset for a large portion of the IU fanbase.

It all depends on who it is. The level of apathy in regards to IU BB is at an all time high. If the announcement comes out for anyone other than Stevens or someone that has won a championship already. That apathy is going to continue until some consistent winning occurs.

Only by people that wear red for BB and Green for FB. Admittedly that is a large portion of the fan base, but I doubt Mr Glass really cares what those people think of his job performance. .

Yeah, but was Coach Knight ever on every night? I remember him as a guy that was brought in for the tournament, and maybe a couple of big games every year. His personality is what made it fun to listen and watch. Archie is more like a wet blanket. I don't see him adding any color to any broadcast.

AMEN to that. I did not always agree with the decisions he made, but I think he was a good AD.

I think it was meant as a dig at Fred Glass. Glass was given a lot of crap for negotiating contracts with both Wilson and Crean then getting rid of each one very soon after. A lot of people believed that Mr Glass should never have been made the AD.

I would not think so, because there is not as much upside in BB. AH is sold out almost every game already. Sure there are empty seats, but most of them were sold. The only place there could be for more revenue is on regular TV not the B1G network. I think IU gets a bigger share of that revenue, but I am not 100% sure. Now instead of remodeling AH, if they would have done the smart thing and torn it down and made it bigger....... I know that is blaphesmy, but financially it would have made sense.

I have to admit, this has been kind of fun. I am almost sad to have to go to bed. Primarily because when I wake up, I will have to figure out if I am going to read the 80 pages that were added, or just skip to the end. Good night for now, see you all tomorrow.

I almost had my wife convinced to let us by season tickets for next year. Our oldest is living in Indianapolis, and would love to head down for some football games. Unfortunately, she said she wanted to fly home for Christmas instead. :(

They don't unless Dolson has got people together to pony up the increased Salary. IU's Athletic Department is one of the few that is in the back, but it isn't in the black enough to handle the increases in salary to the FB program and that kind of increase in the BB program. I do think it is reasonable to assume, that there are enough wealthy donors out there who would be willing to give their money to make a splashy hire like Stevens.

That scenario makes sense and is much more plausible.

No way would something like that get involved with giving money to an Athletic Department. My wife was on her companies charitable board for a number of years, and those things have to be very careful about what kind of organizations get their money. They could easily give it to a scholarship function at IU, but they could get in a lot of hot water for giving it to the Athletic Department,

Well I don't know about a sell out for Memorial Stadium. That doesn't happen very often. :) I do know the ticket office is working really hard trying to get increased ticket sales, and from what I hear third hand, they are being very successful.
