FYI.  I am assuming this is Central Time, NOT EASTERN.  I am only assuming this because the B1G ten site has time listings using both Central (Chicago) and Eastern, but they did not say on the schedule for the luncheon, that I could find. 

Reading these pre-season things is almost worthless.  Very very few people will pick Indiana to finish above last place, until the Hoosiers do something to prove they deserve a different pick.  It takes no effort to pick Indiana where they historically have been.

I am most excited to see if the team is still making improvements on defense, especially after losing our best player on that side of the ball.   I am not worried about the offense.

Fun game last night.  My wife and I kept kicking ourselves, that we don't go to more. Minor League baseball is a blast.  $12 a seat for 3rd row behind the plate.  The T-Rats were even having a promotion that if you bought tickets for any more games this year, you would get $10 per ticket in concession coupons.   Dustin had some really nice plays at third last night.  Went 1 for 4 at the plate.  1 BB.   His hit was a Home Run.   Had a nice text conversation with his Mom.  When I realized who I was bidding against.  I got her number from the bid sheets, and texted her, that I wouldn't bid any more, because I couldn't bid against Family.  

Feeling a little guilty. They were auctioning off jerseys and i got in a bidding war with Dustin's Mom.

I forgot a camera tonight, but I'll bring one on Saturday, and get a picture or two of Dustin in his T-Rat uniform.  

FIrst time I've seen DeMuth play this year.  He went 2 for 4 at the plate.  Had the chance to give him the T-rats a lead, with runners on 1st and 2nd, but had a really weak grounder to first for the 3rd out.   Bad day in the field with the two errors, but almost had two more, but he was able to regroup and get the throws off in time.

Dustin's first at bat is a double.

He must have put on a lot of weight then, because I don't see him being carried to a final four anytime soon.

Going to watch Dustin and the T-Rats tommorw and Saturday! 

10/17 Vs. Rutgers 11/07 Vs. Iowa 11/14 Vs. Michigan 11/21 At Maryland 11/28 At Purdue   I think we go 3-1 OOC  We then have 5 winnable Conference games to pick up 3 more wins.  I won't pick, but I think 3 wins are doable out of these 5.  As like almost every year, it is going to come down to the Defense.  I'll be at the Bucket Game again this year, and I really hope that we go into that game with the 6 wins! 

Burton didn't play in any significant manner.   He played in 14 games, and played 3.5 minutes average.  That being said, I would still give him the one year scholarship, instead of wasting it for 4 years (well maybe 2 with Coach's track record)  of someone that won't see the court any more than Burton.

Bad, yes.  Comparable offenses in the eyes of the law, probably not...

Not sure how this has turned into a Fred Glass discussion, but...... I admit I was not a big fan of the hiring.  I did not a think hiring a man with no prior athletic experience made any sense.  In the years, since, I have come to change my mind.  I think Glass has only one made faux pas and that was giving the large and long extension to Crean.  I can understand the exuberance he had, but even at the time I thought it was a crazy move.  Before Glass IU athletics had two sports; Basketball and Soccer.  Everything else was a joke.  He has done much to bring all the other sports into respectability.  Still have a ways to go with Football, but even there, he has made strides, and is getting more butts in the seats, which helps everything else. I think he will learn from his mistake, and if Crean does not show some success soon, he will be out the door, and I have every confidence that Fred Glass will be able to find the right person to take the reigns.

Well Bob THOUGHT he was the most powerful.  It turns out he didn't have the power he thought he did.

I don't see Maker being much help at all this coming season.  Freshmen have a big enough adjustment to make.  Missing the entire first half of the season, to me means that this year would just be glorified practice.  If he is around the 2nd year, then I think he would be a big help.
