That sounds perfectly correct. If Carlyle’s in fact coming Essegian becomes your 7th scholarship guard. As a niche guy, and if you’re gonna have a niche skill he’s got the best one, what’s his best case scenario, maybe 12 mins? And within his range of outcomes there’s a perfectly reasonable one where he barely plays. I’m not sure I see the appeal for him in comparison to I’m sure more certain opportunities.

Not at all. He’d have played more mins for us last year than he did at UW. If for whatever reason Carlyle or somebody doesn’t come here and Galloway starts again he’d play consistent rotation minutes. 
 
Very few teams have the guard depth UW had last year or what IU will have next year if Carlyle commits.  
 
 

He’s basically walking into the same situation he left. Unless he wants to ride the pine and try and play bigger mins his senior year, it is a tough sell, imo. Otherwise, the people that I know who know him say IU would be his top choice just generally.  
 
But I’m sure his parents or aau coaches or whatever can help him do the math on minutes, which are basically zero this year barring an injury or something. 

Just reached out to another CE contact that I rarely go to…nothing new from the trip, but reaffirmed the one reason I said that if he doesn’t commit it’s due to depth at guard..

And 4 months with Marshall would certainly impact his strength and explosiveness. My concern would be, and there’s no way to know this from highlight reels, does he mentally process at the speed you need? A lot of otherwise good players don’t. Banks didn’t. If they think he does then he makes a lot of sense. If you’re not sure,  that’s a tougher call.

Never been a big fan, but he’s gonna have a strong list.

I don’t think he’s visited anywhere except NC St. Could be wrong.

As mentioned I don't want to go into what I know on a message board, but here is some additional published info from the H-T reflecting lack of transparency, lack of appropriate (including required) inclusion of faculty in certain decision-making and governance policies:
On Mar. 27, more than 200 faculty members signed a petition calling for a special meeting to hold a vote of no confidence against Docherty, Shrivastav and Whitten. The petition centered around the administration “encroaching on both academic freedom and shared governance.”
Key examples included Docherty’s suspension of professor Abdulkader Sinno without a hearing from the Faculty Misconduct Review Committee, the administration’s cancellation of Palestinian artist Samia Halaby’s exhibit at the Eskenazi Museum of Art, the administration’s handling of controversial Senate Bill 202 (which restructured the tenure process at Indiana public universities), their rescinded attempt to sever the Kinsey Institute into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and their refusal to publicly defend faculty member Dr. Caitlin Bernard against Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita after he questioned her medical credentials for performing an abortion for an Ohio rape victim.
Sinno said the administration’s flippancy toward shared governance policies demonstrates the current administration is unfit to lead a major research university.
“I’ve had disagreements with administrations in the past, but we all, them and I, respected policies,” Sinno said. “This administration has no respect for policies or the values of Indiana University.”

I think every one of those guys started as a frosh—which I’d agree is a good list. Seems like it would be near impossible for him to start next year, so if he gets to 8-9ppg off the bench I would consider that a very successful freshman year. 

I think about 99% of these videos have been fantastic. This one feels a touch cheesy. But, hey, if Bryson likes it what do I care?

HEY GUYS:
For the good of one and all, let’s generally agree to keep this thread about IU portal possibilities and much less about assessment of former posters and twitterers identities. We have a thread already set up for that purpose.
