It’s my understanding, and, again, never met him, that he is intense in a way that would make Danny Hurley look at him a little sideways. But he’s won something like 5 D-2 Naty’s, so clearly whatever he’s doing works. And he’s only, maybe, 40, so if he can level up he’s got the chance to just keep going.

This will be interesting to watch for a couple of reasons: 1) McCollum has been wildly successful in D-2 and he could the next Josh Schertz. 2) Never met the man but there are a not insignificant number of people around the basketball world I inhabit who maintain that he is stone nuts. We’ll see what happens with more exposure and scrutiny.

Here are the career numbers:
- FG .447 on high volume
- 3Pt .329 on fairly low volume
- FT% .837
- A/to 1.5/1
What do you think @JSHoosier, @Demo, @Trish, and others?
- Gotta have him
- No way - not good enough
- Not what we need, but a textbook Woodson recruit. So while it's disappointing, that's the type of guy we're ending up with
- Depends on the context
Obviously, additional context needed, but I’d be willing to bet that Tyson Walker’s stat line at Northeastern looked a lot like that. If you told me that mystery kid would come in and just own the team like Walker has I’d be down with no additional questions asked. Lacking that piece, would have to chew on it a little bit.

What's been rumored/expected for more than a week is now official: Andy Enfield has left USC for SMU. USC figures to look into Eric Musselman, Buzz Williams, Jamie Dixon, Jerome Tang, Niko Medved and Mark Pope, among others.
If everything you read is true that Muss has worn everybody out at yet another stop, I imagine he can be had.

We’re talking about second team all Big Ten and first team all Pac 12 point guards. These are excellent players and either would be real upgrades for the roster.
I prefer to take some joy in the prospect of getting really good players to play for Indiana.
We've blown right on by scouting the stat line and moved on to scouting a single element of the stat line. 'Cause that's how the great ones do it.

Played in the same League as Akai Fleming, though not at the same time, so even if their isn't some sort of at least tacit connection I can't imagine they don't know pretty much all the same people.

I watch a fair amount of OU and Uzan was a more confident shooter as a freshman. He never got into any kind of comfortable groove this year, to the point where he was turning down looks at times. But he's a good defender, he's a tough kid, and he takes care of the ball. He's got a chance to help somebody.

Freshman Franklin - 26.6% Sophomore Franklin - 42.4%
Can is the operative word and could Kaiser bump his up to 35% at a minimum?
I’m sure his shooting will improve. That wouldn’t be my problem with him. My problem is his switchability in Woody’s auto switching system. His lateral movement is just not good. He looks to me like a small ball 4 in an open system. If he’s switching from say 4 to 3 he’s probably fine. But if he’s on the perimeter switching 1-3 you’ve got a problem. Teams are gonna hunt him, put in ball screen and get him switched on to their best matchup and he is not gonna hold up.

Imagine so, though his appeal was always sort of lost on me.

Discuss.
If he’s not Satan, he is absolutely the dude who took the bite out of the apple. Michael McDonald looks at that guy with envy.

They are very good. If you aren’t familiar with him, google Richey Edwards, the lead singer/songwriter. Quite the story there.

You just couldn’t ask for a better representative for the school. She and Grace are the foundation pieces of IUWBB.

This is so nuts. Columbia Records incomprehensible decision to try to fashion Chicago into a sort of nameless, faceless generic rock band has successfully blurred the fact that they were crazy good. And Terry Kath, Jesus, for those who only know Chicago from about 5-10 songs on AOR radio, that guy was simply 1 of the most talented guys in the history of rock. Dude could do everything.

1 hour ago, Stuhoo said:Do you think Sears would be anywhere nearly as effective in Woody’s current offense?
I don’t.
We have two choices:
1) Substantially alter the offense, or
2) Bring in a guy like Perkins at the point, because Perkins gets going downhill, defends, and is a really good fit for what Woody currently runs.
The kid is a great college player, team leader and stone winner. If any coach can’t win with that dude I really don’t know what to say.

Wonder if this is a little bit of old news and IU reached out before the Tucker commitment. But, fwiw. 6’7” wing who’s shot right at 40% from 3 over the last 2 years on a little over 4 attempts per game. All CAA last year. 1 year left.

I swear, every time I watch Mark Sears and sit here and mumble to myself about how that is the EXACT player Woody needs to find and then remember that he started out at Ohio U, I’m unsure whether to be annoyed that he’s not in Bloomington or encouraged that he can, in fact, be found.
-
Aaron Estrada needs to pay me to never watch him. I know he’s a good player and yet the half dozen or so Bama games I’ve watched this year I’ve never seen him good.

This is like Evan Gordon coming to play for Indiana. Horrible decision and unlike Evan he cant guard a chair. Just like his brother. Dumb and doesn’t put in the work.
Blackmon wouldn’t be part of my preferred roster construction, but a couple of points really need to be addressed here: 1) If you don’t think Jalen Blackmon isn’t a better player than Evan Gordon I would question if you know what you’re watching. 2) If you’re going to insult the kid by calling him dumb and lazy, I think you really need to support that with very specific examples of behavior that you have witnessed to reach that conclusion. Because in my experience with D-1 athletes, some are smarter than others and some work harder than others, but the percentage of those kids who don’t work miles harder at their craft than the population in general is infinitesimal.
