Thought there was an interview not long ago saying he was one guy or something like that .

I think it’s pretty clearly 1 guy, or at bare minimum 1 guy doing the actual tweeting because the style is always the same. The Coaching Changes feed is definitely multiple guys. They sound very different tweet to tweet.

The fan base will request Brad Stevens, Jay Wright, Nate Oats, Dan Hurley, Eric Spoelstra, Phil Jackson, Red Auerbach, etc.

I think they have a legit shot at Vogel, Golden, and Pope, and maybe they’re willing to stomach Beard or Wade.

I can absolutely see Oats wanting that job. Also, and this would be so hysterically funny should it get rolling, this has always felt like the 1 college gig Donovan might seriously consider.

  3. I had never heard of Kent Nishimura until maybe 4 hrs ago(thank you, Rex Chapman), and I’ve now listened to 10 or so of these and they’re freaking hypnotic. He’s 21, and he takes full arrangements and somehow distills all of the instrumental parts along with the vocal cadence into a single guitar line and then freaking kills it. It’s like the old Eric Clapton line about hearing Robert Johnson and asking who the other guy playing was. I don’t know if this is genius or a parlor trick or something in between, but it is a sight to see.

Seriously debated with myself as to should I or shouldn't I post this.  It's not April 1, but it's pretty hard to believe that it's really true.  BUT, Coaching Changes says they got confirmation and that's not an account prone to tweeting out inaccurate info.  So FWIW.

I don’t buy it, but, for the sake of argument, would imagine that would put Fland back in play in a New York second.

  5. Wow, those bitter as hell UConn WBB gatekeepers who really look for any reason at all to trash Clark have got to be choking right about now. You’ve got to be impressed with how hideous they are in that they’ve managed to make Clark a sympathetic figure.

If true, also might be the reason Muss was so anxious to get out of Fayetteville.

Yup, and until coaches take the hit even after they leave it’s never gonna stop. And Muss is such a POS. Can hardly stand the guy. There’s a reason he’s had a million jobs. Of all the names who got thrown around here when Woody got the job, Muss was the one that was just too gross. He’s never gonna stay anywhere.

Arrienton Page, USC.  6'11" center.  Had an offer from Indiana out of high school and was ranked 57th in the class of 2023.  Made 4 starts at USC last season but was mainly a rotational player, playing 10.7 mpg in 27 games.  3.1 ppg, 2.1 rpg.  Did show some shooting potential -- 16 of his 63 shots were from three, making 5 (31%).  Played high school ball in Georgia.

Would not be opposed to exploring this one. He’s a year young for his class, so the season he had isn’t a shock. He’s got a great frame and he can really run. He’s strong enough to defend the block and he’s really quick off his feet. He’s got a chance to get a lot better.

Alijah Martin, Florida Atlantic, enters.  6'2" guard, averaged 13.1 pts, 5.9 reb, 41/34/75 shooter, for his career 44/37/76.  Bulk three point shooter.

Leon Bond, 6'4" wing, Virginia, enters.  60th ranked recruit from 2023.  Game does not extend beyond the mid range.  Good athlete.  Averaged 4.1 pts and 2.8 reb in 12 minutes/game at Virginia.

Jalen Shelley, 6'8" small forward and 59th ranked player in the clas of 2024, decommited from Arkansas.

Zed Key, 6'8" power forward, Ohio State.  Little surprised he is transferring.  Okay interior game, good rebounder, no outside game.  Started 49 games in 4 years, averaged 7.4 points and 5 rebounds in 17.5 mpg.

Just got done watching Shelley play a couple of games. The kid is gonna be an elite multi-positional defender. 6’8” with elite movement skills. He’ll be switchable 1-4, no problem. Maybe 1-5 in the right situation. And he can really run and he can make enough open looks. Fun prospect.

  9. Moreno’s time as a somewhat under-valued  kid is about to come to a crashing end. And, yeah, I know he’s a top 30-ish kid now. No, he’s better than that. Hopefully, IU being in early is significant or the Barrel Rick stuff proves accurate because everyone’s gonna be in here.

If Rice and Carlyle are a preview of what Newton could be that gets me even more excited.

Strictly a lottery ticket at this point, but I’m holding on to that one for dear life. And if you haven’t watched it, there’s a YouTube video from just a few weeks before he got hurt of his team(Atlanta Express) playing Bronny James’s team(Strive for Greatness) on ESPN. You could not watch that without inescapably concluding that Newton was a better prospect. No disrespect towards Bronny, Newton was just a Guy.

  11. Curious little note if IU should end up with Carlyle and Rice: when Ya got here and IU was offering every kid with a pulse in Georgia it looked like that was going to be a cornerstone piece of their recruiting strategy. Of course that’s not really how it’s shaken out. But, Carlyle(Milton HS before going to OTE), Rice(Covington East) and Jakai Newton(Newton HS) are not only Atlanta area kids, they’re from the same CONFERENCE. The talent down there is just nuts.

ETA: Legend has it, I'm still driving around looking for a parking spot at Butler.

Haven’t been to Hinkle in ages, but it’s always comforting to hear that some things never change.

    Let's hope so.

Myles Rice is the single best IU portal recruit IMO.

    1. Fantastic production as a freshman - 1st team All-PAC12 and PAC12 freshman of the year.
    2. Three years left but already older
    3. Leader and culture setter - a young man that can overcome Hodgkin's and lead a team? Can lead any team.
    4. The #1 position of need - can give him the keys for multiple years

Personally? I don't wanna hear about the "how much did he cost?" NIL is a part of every program. For me, it's not how much a  kid makes; it's whether we are using our NIL wisely. Myles Rice would be a shining example of using NIL wisely.

This right here. Every single word of it.

Tominaga! Dude has crushed a lot of Hoosier dreams this year, I’d hate him if he wasn’t, ya know, an awesome kid,

Won’t happen but also not sure why he nor the school he goes to would want that.

they are an NIT team, I think most schools are striving for more than that

ISU’s resume in the A-10 would have made the tournament, no problem. That, combined with receiving a 500% or more pay raise is why it would be a no brainer move  for Schertz.

I love the way this kid looks on the court. Smooth.

Don’t remember where, but I saw someone comp Tucker to Kerry Kittles. That’s a strong call, right down to the slightly funky action in the jumper.

Paige Bueckers vs. Caitlin Clark -- should be interesting.

If you’re the Fever you obviously take Clark for a million good reasons, but, my Lord, Bueckers is a good player. There is literally no roster construction she can’t improve.
