The whole “can’t fire him now because we won’t be able to hire any coach or land good recruits” reasoning is ridiculous IMO. Hire the right guy, and give him what he wants a la staff and resources. Bingo! It’s not difficult. Go get your proven winner and be done with this “pc” bull crap!

Stay tuned. If anyone wants to PM to buy my girlfriend and me a beer at the game, I can assure you video evidence will be provided of us starting the chants.

Not a fan of either but gotta respect it. I personally enjoy Tequila Ocho, Lula or Gran Centenario. Being a Cinco de Mayo baby might make me biased.

I will be staying at the Beaumont House this weekend and will be in attendance Sunday, and I will partake in “Fi-re Wood-y” chants if there are any :-)

The crowd erupts as he dabs up the coaches and kicks Woody in the balls. Then, a faint sound grows louder. “As of tonight, the Indiana Men’s Basketball Program is ineligible to compete in any contest until further notice. With one player on the roster, the Indiana Men’s Team has forfeited. Please exit the stadium as there will be no game this evening. We apologize for any inconvenience, and please remember as you exit, to avoid all fire alarms.

Well, I guess that would be a W. The improvement is noticeable and I like Year 2 Mgbako a lot. Still, this whole portal roster idea seems too good to be true after last year’s whiff besides Kel’el. I don’t see how they get 2 stud guards on top of a rim protector in here when Woody’s offense is inside-out.

The incompetence demonstrated FOR YEARS by this university is somehow getting worse. This is karmic.

People who are afraid to do the right thing because it would hurt others’ feelings shouldn’t be in positions to make decisions. Plain and simple.

The thing that is most damning about this whole spectacle is how the Athletic Department prioritizes optics over doing the right thing. If they want to do the right thing and be optically correct, it’s a fairly simple thing to accomplish. In fact, I would go a step further and say it is not difficult *at all*. With the amount of national media members from the school, one would think that they could tap into that alumni base and concoct something that makes Woodson’s exit “the right thing” for him and his family - whether he likes it or not - and addresses the vision’s target and plan. You do right by your university and this basketball program. You don’t let the history mean nothing and accept the current results and trajectory. You self-correct and move forward instead of fiddling around like spoiled brats. I’ve said my piece. A lot are to blame, so who has the cajones to admit their failure and lay out a plan of action and do something about it?

Regardless if he comes back or not, we can probably all agree that what’s going on is a sick joke.

I get what you’re saying but I would rather not have Indiana basketball become the laughing stock of the B1G. Even with Crean’s first few years, the team competed hard. CMW’s don’t - consistently - and that’s what makes it even more infuriating. ‘What team shows up today’ is why they’re mediocre.

Exactly. The first sign of the team not performing and the attendance drop off will be substantial. I would not be surprised if not even one sell-out occurs during the entire season. People are over mediocrity and with no clear path for the future, what’s the point in giving up their most precious resources?

There is zero reason for Woodson to get his 4th year if there is a verbal agreement with another coach. Zero. The cons of his 4th year absolutely outweigh any positives. If this is the state of IUBB for next year, I will not make a point to watch the games after the inevitable three game stretch where the same issues from the past three years appear. He is who he is, and he’s not getting the job done. Supporting the program with my time and energy with CMW at the helm is pointless to me. Mediocrity gets old.

This is setting up for “Mike Woodson to retire at age 63.” As a courtesy to CMW, rather than it appearing he was fired or pushed out. That’s my two cents on the article.

When Woodson says, “we have to keep working and I have to get them over the hump,” there better be a follow up comment that there are 5 games left in the season. When, Mike, when are you actually going to accomplish that?
