Thank you Chris! Now we have the proverbial line in the sand. Some are discouraged by the state of recruiting, some are optimistic. Now we have a well respected member giving us a specific date to determine whether the state of affairs is a reason or an excuse. Yay offseason lol [emoji3]

I agree with this part completely. I didn't like when he said that, I thought it was classless. I'm not disappointed that he went elsewhere. Some people care if the recruit is local enough. Some care if he's 1 year or 4. All I care about is if he's a respectable kid. Come from wherever, stay as long as you can, win games, be a good kid. I don't think Bazley met that criteria.

I'm sure we'll do fine too, Indiana has always recruited itself pretty well regardless of the coach in place. Some are more optimistic than others regarding current recruiting, but we're all hoping for the best. I'm a little discouraged with having no recruits yet, and a little surprised that Nahziah Carter chose Washington. He loved Archie at Dayton, but didn't want to follow him to IU? Strange. I guess excuses vs reasons will be decided next year at this time.

Reasons become excuses when others succeed without needing reasons for failures.

Not at all what's going on here. I'm not hoping he fails. Never have I ever said anything close. I'm just not optimistic based upon what I've seen. As far as comparisons to Crean, I'm not bringing them up, I'm just responding to them. And I've said there's no comparison same as you. All I'm saying here is that there's no promise of future success based upon one season. Read it again, you'll see it's true.

Absolutely it does. But that's comparing Miller to the lowest common denominator. That low denominator also had a good year, taking an unhearalded team to the Final Four. That actually > Archie's Elite 8. Yes I'm an Archie skeptic. I don't think one good run = promise for future success. I've heard that before with the Crean hire. I'm hoping for the best but am also not as optimistic as some. Maybe that leads me to dismiss some of the things that get others excited. My expectations based upon results are not high, but I'm hopeful.
