IUMBB at Penn State Game Thread - Wed., Jan. 18. - 7:00 ET on BTN

It's not supposed to. There are three different type of common ACL surgeries, but I don't think any make your more susceptible to another ACL tear, just general knee pain. This is speaking from experience and not research. If OG tore his ACL, I would imagine he would be back. The general recovery timeline is 4 months to straight-line running. 6 months to jumping and cutting. 9-12 months for full recovery. Teams would want to see if he lost any athleticism and he wouldn't be able to go through combine drills, and completing the drills would surely help his stock. -
If you didn't want to see posts about firing Tom Crean, why would you venture into a thread that is literally titled Fire Tom Crean? Wouldn't your request for people to stop the "Fire Crean BS", mean you would to surround yourself by like-minded people?

That last video seems like a non-issue to me. Going for a lose ball, didn't want to smoke the coach by landing on him so he tried to move him out of the way. At this point though, everything he does is going to be watched and replayed 1000 times. He brought it on himself (with some help from the media) so he can't be too angry about it.
-
I don't like Crean as much as the next guy, but this simply isn't true. You hear coaches talk all the time about how well their team played and lost. Maybe that's not what they tell the team privately, but you hear it in the media a good deal. Last night's loss on it's own, isn't that bad. On the road against a pretty good Big Ten team with a veteran guard. Unfortunately, that result isn't an independent result. That's four losses in the last five games. I was a little more reserved on the expectations for this team than most, but it's been rough to watch this year. Not just the losing, but how the team is losing. I don't expect a change now or at the end of the season. Last year bought Tom some more time from Fred. Hopefully things turn around before the end of the season, there's still time, but I'm not optimistic. Not optimistic about next year either, when you look at returning players and incoming recruits. Sigh.

Not sure where to put this, but Fant tweeted that he's coming back next season.

Still not happy about this game being on a Thursday.

Biggest changes needed to the football team?

Lagow cannot be QB. I cannot watch another season of that. I don't care if they put a kitten in an IU jersey under center. Anything but Lagow. -

Figured I'd go ahead and get this game started since Saturday is the big one. Chance to keep the bucket for a fourth straight year and to go bowling for the second straight year. A lot on the line. Rough weekend with all of the Thanksgiving festivities, but hoping some fans turn out at Memorial for this one.

I don't understand the hiring of Nate. Should have looked external. Wasn't on board with firing Vogel, either.
-
I hope not. That's actually a smart hire.

This is all an extremely odd situation. I assume they moved quickly on Allen for a few reasons. They wanted to keep current players and recruits on board, wanted to make sure they didn't lose Allen to another school, and they wanted there to be a sense of continuity. Allen might end up being a fantastic head coach. I hope he's the best in program history. I just wish that the athletic department could have made him interim until the bowl game, and then conducted a thorough search. Obviously, there are a lot of factors at play, so I understand why it didn't happen. Now Allen has to go out and make the right hire at OC. He cannot miss there. Keep Frey and McCollugh around. I'm still excited for the future, just a little more confused and nervous now.

Fantastic result. Wish Assembly could be like that for every game. Newkirk does a really good job at getting into the lane. Just needs to be sure to keep his head once he get's in there. TB got abused a few times in the post on defense. He needs to be stronger and work for better position before the opposing player gets the ball. Can't let them catch it on the block. TB also seems to still struggle with his back to the basket post-ups. I'd be trying to get him the ball in the high post so he can turn and face. DeRon is going to play a major role once he plays himself into game-shape. He's an excellent defender and has shown some solid post moves. Hope OG's sprain isn't actually a high ankle sprain. Those can take 2+ months to com back from and an actual break would most likely be better. Hopefully it's a low ankle sprain and just 3-4 weeks. He was awesome last night.

They actually created chances (on goal) today, just couldn't finish them Usually, they can't get anything on frame. Should have done better with a few of them, but unlucky on most. Not a lot you could do on the VT's winner. Maybe close-down a little better, but it was still a difficult shot. Feel bad for the seniors. I would imagine Lillard is gone as well. -
Fant is graduating but said he was unsure on his future. Might still be back next year. If not, that's a huge loss. Losing Zander really stings. Not necessarily because of his production, but just because of who he is. Works hard and does whatever he is asked. Has all the heart in the world and went out there and busted it when IU didn't have a QB to turn to. Back to today - Man, that was ugly. But it was a win.Four in a row and back-to-back bowl games. In a transition year no less. The program is definitely making progress. A bowl win would be massive for this team and would definitely help recruiting. I'll be praying for the Music City Bowl. Not sure how likely that is. Quck Lane Bowl wouldn't be terrible either. Something close please.

Yeah, this isn't true. We might not play IPFW in Fort Wayne again in the near future, but your original claim is false.
