I feel like the telling stat when questioning whether small point guards can get the job done is rebounding. At 6'0" DaQuan Davis is averaging almost 5 rebounds per game at OTE. To me that means he is a physical 'dog' of a player. Add some good shooting stats and he seems to be an excellent pickup. And if he helps with DQueen? All the better.
Two other things: on his most recent highlight video he easily slams it on an unguarded breakaway and some of his three point makes are waaaay behind the arc (and fairly effortless from long distance).

Thanks for posting this. I hadn’t caught that Davis transferred back to St Frances, his original high school with Queen. Been waiting for OTE’s season to start. Turns out that Davis’s 1st game this year is next Friday against none other than Boogie Fland and Archbishop Stepinac. That’s a must watch. It’ll be broadcast on NFHS for anyone interested who subscribes.
Little side note: You know Malik Mack, the leading freshman scorer in the country and the kid who just dropped 26 on IU in AH? He played last year at St John’s in DC and his backcourt partner was…..Daquan Davis. 1 of them was the Catholic League POY last year, and it wasn’t Mack. Haven’t watched him so I can’t judge him, but Davis has gotten it done with and against some of the best competition in the country.

Feedback from the ‘24 recruits. Positive, though even at that age these kids are really good at talking without saying much, though it does sound like Carpenter is planning to stick around.

He did, but I think the portal opened a little later last year and was open for 45 days.  I think it's 30 days this year.
There is also an April portal window open for 15 days.

So I was told that Dolson was talking with other schools AD who were good at both Football & Basketball. To see what we needed to do to raise the football program. He was sure that Cigs was the guy. Not sure what schools he talked to.

I have a real good friend here in Ohio, that is a rabid OSU fan. He is a High School and Middle School coach of basketball, and conditioning.
He is pumped that IU got Coach Cignetti.  Thinks he will be great for IU and for the Big Ten.  But what does he know since he is an OSU fan?
Actually the guy is sharp and he is right.
 
 

JMU fans saying Indiana will be just a stepping stone for him and if he goes like 16-8 over his first couple years here then bigger programs are gonna come calling. He’s 62 years old. I’d like to think if we have our resources in order for football and he gets this thing rolling, we should be his final stop if things go well. No reason why we can’t be a program he enjoys coaching at until he retires if he’s the guy who puts us on the map. 

I think we have some kids on this team who are dying to be coached up. I really think the new staff will be able to get more out of this roster.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see our NIL go above 7 million this season.
