I crossed out the word basketball so it says "UK fans and their IQ".

Assembly Hall = 34th best college stadium? SAY WHAT?!?
JSHoosier replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Me too. And there are posters that say IU hasn't done much in a while, the Cubs haven't done a thing in 100 years. -
Fixed.

Mike Davis returns to Assembly Hall

I wouldn't boo him, but I certainly wouldn't cheer him either. So help me, if we lose that game... -
What if Coach Knight had not been fired
JSHoosier replied to OliviaPope40's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well, if he was in a paper bag at least he'd have an excuse. He could just say he was so awful because he couldn't see the game. -
I did. I've never bought that year 3 shouldn't count though, never will. I didn't expect that team to be particularly good, but I did expect a better showing than 12 wins. I never said the team didn't improve between those years, it did, but I think there was certainly enough there for that season to be counted. While Vic had a big improvement, he still didn't have much of a shot or much of a handle. Truth be told I think year 4 over achieved a bit the same as I feel year 3 under achieved a bit. I don't think year 4 was Sweet 16 good, but I do believe year 3 was a better team than 12 wins awful.
-
I won't deny that. Although saying "considering what he had to work with" kind of glosses over that year 3 and 4 were practically identical rosters and year 3 still had upperclassmen that had been in the system for a minimum of 3 years.
-
Year 3 was practically the exact same roster as year 4, there was only one contributor difference between the two.

The man at the helm of MSU worries me as much as any recruits they get.

OT-John Calipari Calls a Radio Show To Defend Himself
JSHoosier replied to CampHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah, Francesca is way off base here. I hate to say anything in defense of the squid, but the guy is a pretty good Xs and Os coach as well. Can he recruit and motivate and get the egos to mesh? Absolutely, but he can coach some Xs and Os too. -

We would've gotten Sean May too, Davis being coach was the reason we didn't get him. -

Well, on one hand his replacement wouldn't have been Mike Davis. On the other hand, his replacement would've been Pat Knight. Yikes. -

Well, I'd have felt much more comfortable with RMK on the sideline than Mike Davis. Davis couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. He wrote that he was genuinely excited to coach that team, I do know that much. -
Minor changes I'm okay with. Update the cut, the material, change font size/color (slightly), fine. Things like the "INDIANA" arcing across the chest and the pinstripes around the neck/arms shouldn't change and no names on back. That's basically my stance on not changing them.

I'd be fine with an alternate that's used once or twice a year, but keep the regular unis as is.
-
The "new" home/away jerseys for ND football are just a different brand (UA instead of Adidas) the colors and scheme are the same as they have been for years. The only one that's really different is for their Shamrock series, which would be like us having an alternate we use one time a year. Link I don't see how our old school uniforms are hurting us. They don't make you win or lose, so they're not the reason we haven't won a championship since 1987, and they certainly didn't seem to be hurting us on the recruiting trail. We've used those designs for so long they've become part of Indiana basketball, they make us stand out from the crowd. And to be honest I literally couldn't care less what UK or MSU or any of them do, is that Nike sweat stain uni an improvement? Not hardly.

(2015) C Stephen Zimmerman to UNLV
JSHoosier replied to JSHoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
We have about as much chance at this kid as I have of getting with Emma Watson, none nada zilch. Going for an in home when we didn't even get an OV is just a waste of time IMO. -
I haven't been too impressed with what I've seen of this kid. So I'd rather just bank the scholarship, even though Crean seems to think that's illegal. The odds of a player being available this late in the game that can actually help have got to be slim to none and closer to none (Kasango has grade issues), and I've never been in the "we need bodies" camp. We need someone that can actually help, not just any warm body.

I almost feel bad. Oh, wait, no I don't.

(2015) JUCO PF Ray Kasongo
JSHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Oh Vic was under ranked and Crean does get credit for that, but people need to stop acting like Crean found him in Timbuktu. He was a highly athletic player on a good high school/AAU team, he didn't get the attention of top college programs but people knew who he was. -

Yeah, that's not true on Vic. He had offers from Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Xavier, Pitt and others. Those aren't on the same level of an IU (neither is Maryland), or where we should be, but that is a pretty solid list. Rankings are far from a science, but generally there is degree of accuracy. If no one has ever heard of a recruit, there is probably a reason. If a recruit ONLY has offers from small programs, there is probably a reason. -

Pfft, we beat Incarnate Word for a recruit. That's not scrambling, that's prime time. -
I don't have pictures, but I watch every game in a room with red walls and white trim (doors, door facing, window facing, kick boards). I have an IU throw blanket with Assembly Hall, a basketball and what looks like hardwood with the IU logo, and various IU autographs behind me including RMK and Damon Bailey sadly I don't have my Damon Bailey and Calbert Cheaney signed ball displayed or my cap signed by Will Sheehey and Christian Watford.

I like Clapton more than those two, I'm a huge fan of his guitar playing. I would've liked to seen Bob Seger when he performed in Evansville, heard from a friend it was a pretty good show.
-
I'd love to see the Eagles too, a band I've always enjoyed. I'd really love to see Clapton or Petty or Rush in concert.
