We have had many easy wins since FGCU.

This. A bridge coach shouldn't need to rebuild after 3. As you said, they don't deserve another year because they screwed up pretty bad to get to that point. On your second paragraph, non-zero chance IU would screw IU without any contract triggers.

I kind of disagree on the bolded. In a good, thorough search he wouldn't have been a candidate at all, he wasn't a good option full stop. Take away the name Mike Woodson. If IU went after a random 62 year old with no college experience and hadn't been a HC in almost a decade, would anyone be happy with it? If the answer is yes, I call bullcrap. Being a program legend is the only reason he was even considered let alone hired.

Sadly I could see it. Ware and Walker both gone, so they'll likely want at least one portal big, 2 if they miss on Queen, for the way they've shown they want to play.

Since Oats was mentioned with UL and OSU, here's an article breaking down his contract and buyout. 12m if he leaves before March 15. https://www.tuscaloosanews.com/story/sports/college/basketball/2024/02/14/nate-oats-contract-buyout-alabama-basketball-record-salary-crimson-tide/72599204007/

A politician's interests are based on what special interest pays them the most, and politicians will pick someone with shared interests.

Making trustees political appointments. What could possibly go wrong. No way those selections would have ulterior motives. People in general, not just alumni, should be upset about that.

Wait for a 66 year old with so much ego he refers to himself in 3rd person to realize 'wait, I screwed up so I should change. My advice, don't hold your breath waiting.

If they care more about just keeping the money coming in and the surplus then on court results, no.

Yep. It's really just "he'll change.....I hope". Indiana loves to keep bad coaches too long. It's cost us recruits before and now keeping Woodson could cost us the likes of Sisley and Mullins.

"I'm not going to answer that to you or the fans" But sure, that sounds like a person that will learn and change. The same guy that was fired from the Hawks because players tuned him out.

I think I've figured out. IU has their own version of Order 66 to make sure the program is completely dead.

Watch us miss on Sisley and Mullins because the administration didn't want to admit they screwed up.

They put that on a giant flashing sign the moment they hired a 60 year old with no college experience.

Bold strategy, I don't think it'll work out that way.

And we're supposed to believe he's seen the error of his ways and change at age 66.

Woodson said he was supposed to bridge the gap, now we're going into year 4 needing a rebuild because of how badly his staff did. And we're supposed to believe the same staff that f-ed up that thoroughly is capable of fixing it....

If May is who Dolson wants, then he may have to make a move this year because other programs wre goung to call. May is a risk and I'd prefer to see more from him. Timing is a factor; Dolson should've considered that when he hired a 63 year old. I think we should move on, but know it won't happen. I don't think IU wants the black eye of firing a program legend and the only way to avoid that is if he retires on his own. Woodson said he was forced to play through the post with Davis and Thompson, but had a chance to move on and doubled down by adding multiple bigs to the roster. A lot of people become stuck in their ways when they get older and I don't see Woodson wanting to make changes to how he does things.

Hill might wake up from his season long nap soon, I'm sure he'd have wonderful advice.

The staff looked at Galloway, a guy with one good shooting year, and Johnson, a guy who was very inconsistent before injuries, and were comfortable enough to leave a scholarship open. Unreal.

And if we hired a 63 year old with no college experience for the kind of long rebuild some are mentioning, then we've got issues beyond the basketball program.

I checked and didn't see anything about him signed, a Twitter post from late December looked like he was still committed.

And no one is saying down years can't or don't happen, just that down years at IU should still be a tournament appearance; that was even stated in that video posted a few pages back.

If he doesn't want pressure then he doesn't want to go to places like UK etc. If they had our last 20 years it'd make us look mild.
