I would strongly disagree with that assessment... I watch a lot of basketball, and I have been watching IU for as long as I can remember and the opportunities the Archie Offense gives us are REALLY REALLY good ones.... we just don't hit the shots, part of that is sometimes it is the wrong guy getting those opportunities (i.e. Race being wide open on the wing). We obviously still take bad shots as well (Al or Rob driving into the trees with no chance) but for the most part I would say we get the looks any team would want.... we just have to hit them more consistently. But more on point, I wasn't saying those things, I was saying if those were his answer to the questions being asked by the AD then how do you proceed? Where is the Solution?

IU has to score with them... hit some shots, and slow down there offense some on defense, but this is a game we can win... IU 79 Maryland 74

His answer... "The offense is creating open shots, we aren't hitting them but we will continue to work on it in practice. The upperclassmen are the key...." - Then what do we decide to do? His answer... "We can try to go faster.... we will hire a shooting doctor.... the upperclassmen suck, we will play only Freshmen and Sophomores..." - Then what do we decide to do?

What is your solution? I know it involves Firing Archie but what is the actual solution? Try Again on an unproven commodity? Start Over again? I really do at least understand the people that don't like Archie being the coach, but I have yet to hear a valid solution or replacement from pretty much anybody... and I know we don't get to make that decision so it may be playing with fake money here.... but who is the solution? Is it realistic? Could it actually happen? My point is my solution is Archie stays, the team begins shooting 60% from 3 to finish the season and we win it all.... obviously not realistic, obviously couldn't actually happen... but you get my point... a solution is only as good as it is possible.

Nobody saw the offensive battle coming as proof by @ALASKA HOOSIER getting the top score this game, even if only because @cappymo14 changed his prediction, taking him from 1st place to 28th on the game.... I would say it most seasons.... Not this year, this year they are legit... but most seasons they would be mid to bottom of a decent P5 Conference...

Lets go all MONEY BALL and start our Top 5 PER, and make rotations accordingly?? TJD, Race, Armaan, Geronimo, & Durham get the start. Rob is 1st guy off the bench... followed by Trey.... and then Leal.... Not sure where Jerome fits in the PER.... Lander never leaves the bench & Justin Smith transfers (maybe to somewhere like Arkansas)

How can you use Justin Smith as a stat of somebody playing worse... he doesn't even play on our team.... What about our 2 Sophomore's? What is their PER? I am guessing it is a big improvement, which is why it isn't included in your analysis. The PER sums up all a player's positive accomplishments, subtracts the negative accomplishments, and returns a per-minute rating of a player's performance. Therefore saying giving these guys more minutes will make them better and build for the future is inherently incorrect. Why people continue to advocate playing Leal & Lander is beyond me... they are Hoosiers, and I HOPE they improve over the next few years and make an impact but I don't want to see either of them on the floor in meaningful minutes for the rest of the season, they have proven they are not ready... obviously they have proven the same in practice which is why they don't get a lot of minutes. Trey is getting plenty of minutes as it is so no change, but I would be ok to try Jordan a little more as he has shown some flashes, but he can't be playing 30 minutes a game either at this point. NEVER NEVER NEVER has any coach in the history of sports given up on a season so early to try to prepare for the next season... that is ludacris and would get Archie (or anybody) fired immediately. You do everything you can to win every game that you can, and for us this year it is the rotation and the minutes that we have seen all season... add in Brunk when/if he is able.... those minutes probably come from Jerome Hunter mostly...

Statistically ... YES.... Statistics can say anything you want them to say... SINCE Al Durham Arrived at IU he is shooting 34.3% from 3 (97-282), Rob is shooting 32.7% (57-174), & Franklin is shooting 32.2% (29-90) SINCE Al Durham Arrived at IU he has 220 Rebounds, Rob has 184, & Franklin has 88 SINCE Al Durham arrived at IU he has been a 2 time Captain (that part is undeniable) SINCE Al Durham arrived at IU he has been our best perimeter defender... This part is somewhat subjective, but I am sure there are stats to back it up, not sure if they looked at steals, blocks, DEFLECTIONS, points against, or what criteria they used.... As I said stats can be made to fit anything somebody wants to say.
