A 2013 JUCO SF that decommitted from Marquette the other day. Had an offer from us. I haven't seen our name attached since he left,but you never know.
 
Jameel McKay, who was one of the top junior college players last season at Indian Hills CC, recently announced that he was leaving the Marquette Men’s Basketball program a few weeks before their first game. McKay, a 6-8 forward, was ranked as the #3 prospect in our 2013 JucoRecruiting.com Top 100 Player Rankings, is an extremely active rebounder on both ends of the floor and is able to score the ball around the rim effectively. He averaged 17.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per game last year at Indian Hills.
 
McKay announced his departure via Twitter two days ago and has picked up heavy interest from high majors throughout the U.S. quickly. McKay has informed us that he is hearing from Arizona, Oklahoma, Arizona State,  UNLV,  Arkansas, Florida, Wichita St., Miami, Minnesota, Louisville, Iowa State, San Diego State, Memphis and Tennessee. Yes, Jaquan has had real maturity issues. BUT, by all accounts, he is smart, VERY personable and likable, and seems to recognize that he needed to make changes.  He is also a very unselfish basketball player that seems to just now be realizing how much better he can be if he develops a work ethic.
 
That, and because I have a fairly strong belief that

You would think by now after things like this, the organization would realize the gold mine they stumbled upon with this kid.  Not only are you getting a great player and person, you are also getting one of if not the most beloved Hoosiers of the last 20 years who is charismatic as hell.  The marketing department loves this pick as much as the basketball people.  You are welcome Orlando.

Vic is cruising. Should be matched up against Nick Anderson next round. I was at the game when Anderson hit a last second shot against IU to give Illinois the win. Payback.

Orlando and San Antonio play tonight at 8:30 tonight.

He’s patient. He doesn’t care about shots, touches, scoring, you know, and that’s what you want. A lot of guys that are as highly recruited as him would come in and think the complete opposite, and so it’s nice that he plays that hard.”
 
It will be an absolute pleasure to see Noah play great ball this season.
