Yeah - Miday didn’t last 4 years. He’s the one who came to practice with long hair a Knight told him to go get a haircut before he could come back. Miday retorted that Jesus had long hair. Knight escorted Miday to Royer pool and told him if he could walk across the pool he could keep his long hair. LOL4 points -

Don Noort. I know that I am not the first to submit his name but I feel the need reinforce the sentiment. Remember a game where he was the recipient of a long fast break outlet pass under the bucket with no defender within 10 feet of him and rather than go up and lay it in he felt the need to pump fake his invisible defender and by the time he went up to lay it in his real defender had arrived on the scene and swatted his shot. A kegger party at my Walnut Knolls apartment in play here too but want to stay on topic.4 points -

https://247sports.com/college/maryland/Article/Kevin-Willard-Big-Ten-doesnt-understand-how-to-schedule-a-basketball-game-has-caused-its-title-drought-201188531/ This is one epic whine by Kevin Willard. Yeah, pretty sure Purdue lost to St Peter’s because of the way the B1G league office scheduled them in January. Tell you what, Kevin, I’ll stipulate to your tournament expertise since you’ve won 1 tournament game in your career, but how about playing at least, I don’t know, half of a conference schedule before going off on it.2 points -

Geronimo is shooting 15% from 3 this year, on the most attempts of his career per game (slightly), and 29% for his career. Him shooting 3s? Literally every defense we would face agrees with that. EDIT: Plus over his career as his attempts have gone up the percentage has gone down.2 points

Food for thought: Geronimo has played 67 games and has shot 15 of 52 from three (29%). In terms of 'big 3's', he's only made 3 three pointers in games we won that were even close (within 15).2 points -

A continuation on this. Their guards last night came out past the three point line to guard aggressively with proper stance and hand position. Smaller and less athletic but far superior basketball technique. I don’t know if it was #1 or #21 but we haven’t had a guard defend like that in eons. (Xavier was close) We are so passive on defense. Almost like we are playing a zone with the help side. And I understand help side. But individually seeing proper stance, hands, and aggressiveness is refreshing. Simple basic stuff. We had guys closing out with narrow stances and hands not out or up but just at their sides, as entry passes go around them. I don’t get it. Basic stuff.2 points -

First comparison of Indiana's three point percentage made and percentage of shots that are taken that are three pointers compared to other Big Ten teams: IU: hitting 36.5% of our threes; 32.6% of shots are three pointers Illinois: hitting 33.3% of their threes; 45.8% of shots are threes. Iowa: hitting 32.7% of their threes; 36.8% of shots are threes Maryland: hitting 32.2% of their threes; 41.0% of shots are threes Michigan: hitting 36.0% of their threes; 37.9% of shots are threes Michigan St: hitting 37.7% of their threes; 33.4% of shots are threes Minnesota: hitting 32.9% of their threes; 38.7% of shots are threes Nebraska: hitting 29.7% of their threes; 37.5% of shots are threes Ohio State: hitting 37.5% of their threes; 32.8% of their shots are threes Penn State: hitting 39.8% of their threes; 40.4% of their shots are threes Purdue: hitting 31.1% of their threes; 39.8% of their shots are threes Northwestern: hitting 31.9% of their threes; 44.2 of their shots are threes Wisconsin: hitting 37.4% of their threes; 40.3% of their shots are threes Rutgers: hitting 30.2% of their threes; 29.9% of their shots are threes Indiana is 5th in three point percentage, 13th in rate of three pointers shot per field goal attempts. Median values for the league: 33.1% of field goals made, 38.3% of shots taken are three pointers. By three pointers made per game, IU is tied for 10th in the conference with Purdue at 7.1 made per game. In attempts, they are only ahead of Nebraska. IU takes 19 per game. For comparison: IU averages 7.1 made threes on 19 attempts; the league medians are 7.5 makes on 23 attempts. Last year IU made 6.1 on 18 attempts.1 point -
This is what happens when greedy conferences want to expand and get to big . When it was 10 the scheduling was easy and it was a round robin. Also the schedule would be every team played on Thursday and Saturday and everyone had a travel partner. It was so easy to keep track when and who you were playing.1 point

Athletes not caring about going to class was far from exclusive to Sampson. I and some of my friends had classes with IU basketball players, and even the ones you’d expect to care would rarely show up. He’s got Houston rolling. #3 in the country. I don’t think your idea is that off fwiw. I haven’t seen a level of play from Banks to justify his displacing guys in the regular rotation, and anything we see now is without X which hurts us badly, but the offense is predictable and still limited, not as one dimensional as it was before Kopp and Bates started finding their outside game, and JHS helps create well. I think this and these discussions really come down to bball philosophy and personal risk willingness. So one of the reasons i’m such a Geronimo backer (and Bates and Gallo) is that he/they bring athleticism, quickness, steals, blocks and with JG and Gallo an ability to guard athletic guys and get out and run. That’s not to say I don’t like Race, his ability to step out has grown, he rebounded like an animal in this game (but against undersized guys) and he’s a savvy player who doesn’t make many mistakes— but we are too limited offensively in the usual lineups and strategy (imo). So where I think the disconnect is between fans like me who want to see guys like JG or for you Banks getting real run, and guys who respond by pointing out only their limitations (current or perceived) and that well, Woodson sees them in practice so end of discussion — Is I’d rather see certain guys in with the mistakes they’ll make, the still developing defensive awareness or timing, so long as they’re developing and improving on that, for the speed, athleticism, energy and diversity they add to our game, really on both sides of the ball. We saw how limited our usual lineup/ gameplan is against a team like AZ. That’s not to say hey look I’m right, but it’s what I see. People who strongly disagree I think have more of an RMK mindset to the game — no mistakes allowed. RMK’s (who of course is one of the best ever) philosophy included the idea that the team that makes fewer mistakes wins, that was one of his hallmarks. And if a guy made one RMK typically would yank him and chew him out. I liked many things about him, but not that, and in his later years it wasn’t working, our guys would just swing the ball around the perimeter, looking scared to screw up. I don’t want a team’s development - and ability to counter more athletic teams - held back by the idea you can’t play if you are making mistakes. Woodson to me looks to very much have that philosophy and he imposes it harder on some than others (he can’t afford to with JHS for example). That’s also the “trust” level that drives playing time. I want more risk for what i think is higher reward. That comes down to personal philosophy. We have talent that I think needs more run, and would help make us less predictable1 point -
And a great kid on top of that! They seem to have a great culture in that locker room, as well. Don't they have a bunch of draft picks in 23?1 point
