Might want to move Hammons and Haarms a little farther away from patient zero before they get crabs.

I am a first time poster because I just found this site - so pleased. background been following women's basketball for 40 years, graduate from IU and so pleased finally the University recognized the importance/value and quality. Now recognized as a team that plays as a team with enjoyable precision in their offense. would appreciate knowing about the incoming freshmen as well as Geary from Providence. thanks

IMO, college basketball has moved to the point where a a lot of 3's are playing the 4 spot and some teams just play three guards and no real small forward. The 'wing' position means different things to different teams.

Kris Murray got an invite??? Time for Fran McCaffrey to explain how he got his sons on the court for 42 minutes per game but could only get Kris Murray on the court for 18 minutes.

The removal of scholarship limits would be on 'equivalency sports' which can only offer partial scholarships. It would not effect basketball or football.

Samad Hines on spring stock risers -- 2023 F Arrinten Page (Wheeler, GA) – Around this time last year, Arrinten Page was mostly an unknown and just local prospect out of the state of Georgia. Now schools like LSU, Ole Miss, USC, Alabama, Cincinnati, Missouri, SMU, Georgia, and others have offered the 6-foot-9 forward. It is without question that Arrinten Page is one of this spring’s biggest stock-risers and has proven so through out the last two months. He has shown consistent production in the EYBL through two session with The Skills Factory (GA). Page is a consistent finisher inside, makes his presence defensively, a lob catcher, an athletic forward, and shows some flashes of his offensive versatility. An outstanding pick and roll finisher with a football like frame.

FWIW, Hood-Schifino is not a wing/3. Gallo isn't really either - he played with the ball in his hands as the secondary ball-handler a lot last year. I also expect Tamar to be playing with the ball in his hands more this year. But Jordan and maybe Kaleb Banks are going to be wing/3s on offense a fair percentage of the time. On defense? We are looking to have guys that can match up and switch onto many positions, so that's not where the mystery lies - it'll never get clearly defined, even once the season starts.

“I’m like ‘they keep asking me this, now all the sudden I’m nervous,’” Gray remembers telling IU senior assistant athletic director for marketing Mark Skirvin that day. “I’m like ‘they made me nervous by asking me if I was nervous.’” https://www.insidethehall.com/2022/05/12/from-imitating-chuck-crabb-while-growing-up-to-being-named-full-time-public-address-announcer-for-iu-mens-and-womens-basketball-at-assembly-hall-jeremy-gray-takes-next-step-in-caree/?fbclid=IwAR3n7ZxoBNhBCtdnA0V0uQ-66PfYt7OpanRBbTgRwLJtvTS5iObg8CzVYSE

Is there a little known codicil in some recruiting handbook somewhere that stipulates that Xavier and Va Tech have to offer all the same kids?

Alternate captions for the graphic: "One of these players will be Purdue's point guard next year" "These five Purdue greats scored a total of 48 points in the NBA" "Purdue: We. Are. Math. (and we are currently in the year 2023)"

Don't get me wrong, I have no idea where he'll end up, it was just mentioned earlier that he'd most likely get 2-Way Contract and not play in the NBA for 3 years. I just meant that if he gets a 2-way contract he'd almost definitely play in the NBA next season.

    (2022) - PG/SG Lexus Bargesser to IU

Of course hate that injury happened to her. L.B. is another stamp of what T. Moren and staff and IU Ladies basketball program represents. Lexus Bargesser is amazing and all the descriptive words that it has taken to get to this point. Will she or how long will it take to get back to where she was as beginning of her senior season (maybe never in track)? It will be very interesting to see where her basketball journey takes her at IU especially her junior and senior years. It’s such a long haul to recover the skills that makes her the highly regarded recruit she was and still is. IU Ladies basketball program will be a great place for her to be.

So you're saying there's a chance IU has him for 2 more years. I'll take it!

Welcome back Hulls! He’s a winner and always played hard. Maybe he can help with our 3 point shooting. He was always good at moving without the ball and be able to come off screens and had a quick release. Good for him!

This is probably a idiotic view but how does Kentucky continue to appeal to elite recruits with their continuous underachievement? Yes I hate KY and their success most of us might clamor for but Cal hasn't done much in years. His 2012 title team even had some of Gillespies recruits who were really the glue on that team (Darius Miller). IDK maybe I'm nuts and as an iU fan don't have much of an argument but I just don't get it.

This is a really good perspective I think. I tend to be in this camp as well. Off-season expectations always seem to be rosy because we want to believe and be excited about a new beginning next Fall. But I’ve heard folks say with TJD back we’re a potential top 10, even top 5, team next year. I don’t see it. Last year’s team was a middle of the pack B1G team and outside of a good (losing) effort at PU and couple wins in the B1G tourney with their backs against the wall, played inconsistent and average ball for three months. Even with Trayce back, we’re mostly the same team. TJD is talented, and we all love him, but he’s a back to the basket big who doesn’t create his own shot and needs good ball entry and lots of space to work. As unpopular as it may be, he plays a brand of basketball that the NCAA and Woody are trying to move away from in favor of the NBA style with bigs that can play away from the basket and in the midrange. The JHS and Reneau additions are exciting for good reason, but should probably be exciting because of what it does for the program for recruiting additional high-level talent and attracting “missing piece” top-end portal transfers to put together a top-10 team in ‘23-‘26. Next year I think their impact will be mostly exciting to see their potential in flashes, but still splitting time in the rotation with XJ and Race. Overall I guess I’m more on the side that expects this team to have a season more similar to last season with the same core and think it’s less likely that core and our additions make a sizeable leap to a top-10 team. For what it’s worth, I still believe TJD will be back. The team will be competitive, and the excitement for the future of the program will be strong. But we’re 1-2 years away from being “in the conversation” like we want to be.
