Huge day on campus with both him and JT here on campus. Recruiting gods send us some good vibes here. One seems to be a Duke lean, the other UNC. So let's hope both of them here together makes them think they want to play together.

He grew an inch and gained 10 lbs just from the IU visit? No wonder the family was impressed!

(2022) - PF Kyle Filipowski to Duke

Believe it or not, I think stuff like that does matter. Recruits and their families are looking for a place to fall in love with. No matter how much they say (and mean it) that they are looking for player development and a great staff and teammates; the aesthetics of the campus, the weather that day, and the hotel and great meal they eat all have a real effect. It's a little different than a beautiful weather day that featuresthe campus, but this is from the Jordan Geronimo post-commitment interviews: “I heard a couple of times that Indiana was a basketball state, but I hadn’t really done my research. I’ve heard a few times that Indiana was a basketball school, basketball state. I was like ‘yeah, whatever.’ And then I checked to the Graduate Hotel in Bloomington, Indiana. I look up there are basketball chandeliers, I look down and there is basketball carpet, and I look left there are bleachers that are decorations on the wall.”

Not sure it really makes all that much difference but couldn’t ask for better weather to showcase Bloomington!

I'm going out on a limb here and saying we will get Fears.

102-53 win over Venezuela at FIBA Women's AmeriCup. Grace Berger with 8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 4-for-4 at the line in the victory!

I was going to call your prediction "Fearless" but that wouldn't really fit for this recruit.

    Yes even after that.

If you weren't already aware, as of midnight last night coaches could start making direct contact with the '23 class. Jalen Hooks among those we've already contacted. Also Maki Johnson, Kaleb Glenn, JaQualon (J.Q.) Roberts (Bloomington North HS) and Xavier Booker. Probably some others as well that just haven't been made public yet.

    IU Trustee Election

Look I get it. You don't like Eric. Others do and can see through his silliness and realize he is a great guy. You are entitled to vote for whoever you want and I respect that, but stop putting down people who see it differently than you. That is part of an election. People like different candidates and it does not make someone superior to someone else.

    N. Kentucky is a pretty good program and be a good test. I like seeing this game instead of playing a 300+ program.

Yeah, those 4 were the only ones to finish in the top 16 of their events. 13 total swimmers with IU connections swam yesterday. It's awesome that Matheny is in the finals. He's going to be a good one. Actually, I guess he already is. lol

    IU Trustee Election

Well he is running on a platform of improving sports. Who people vote for is up to them, but next time money gets siphoned away from sports for a building, because the other candidates win who are not sports fans, don't complain. Eric may be eccentric and a show off, but at least he wants to fix the issue about the trustees caring about sports. That's the bottom line about what people on this board should care about regardless of how they feel about his personality.

    IUWBB - News and Notes

USA has automatically advanced to the Thursday quarterfinals. Argentina has been booted from the competition due to COVID-19 protocols. Its remaining scheduled games against the USA and Venezuela are deemed forfeits and the results of the 2 games it has played are nullified.

IU Men's Soccer News and Notes

Very replicable. Decent substitute, but guys like him are a dime a dozen. The bottom line is of the guy's we need back, Glass is the special player and the one we needed of the four seniors and got him. Black is also a dime a dozen guy. Palazzolo (who has all but said he is leaving) is the next best in the senior group but also flawed. He is a terrific hustler and very fast, but often gets ahead of himself and tries to play quicker than his body allows and can miss easy goals and passes as a result at times. Time for Coleman Gannon, Emerson Nieto and Kyle Folds to step up in mid who have much higher ceiling and are high ranked recruits this year and last. If they can be what they are capable, we may be best team in country or close to it. Only other big decision is Bezerra. MLS draft is not until winter, but he could sign is a free agent and is very much ready to do so. If he goes, Wittenbrink is the guy and there will be a drop off. If we want to be a top team with a legit shot at a title, we need Bezerra back (very questionable) and Celantano (I think he comes back) as well. We may lose Sessock as well on D, but that's not overly concerning as they have been grooming Lawson Redmon and still have Maher, Munie and Beebej who are among the best in the business and D should be tough as nails like usual.

Senior forward Thomas Warr will not use his final year of eligibility, per his Instagram page. The Zionsville native closes out his Hoosier career with six goals and seven assists across 64 appearances and 14 starts.

Don’t know about it from a broader perspective, but I seem to remember that UK paid Evansville 90K to go in to Rupp and beat them.

Dan McDonald of Rivals - June 1 marked a big milestone for prospects in the 2022 class as they are finally able to get out and see the schools recruiting them and meet the coaching staff in person after being limited to phone calls, FaceTime and Zoom calls for the past 15 months. Throughout the summer, I’ll be highlighting important visits happening each week. This week, I’m intrigued by Indiana working to get Rivals150 forward Kaleb Banks up for his first official visit. The Georgia native received an offer from the new Hoosiers staff shortly after Mike Woodson hired fellow Georgia native Yasir Rosemond as an assistant coach. Banks holds several offers from ACC and SEC programs as well, but keep an eye on Indiana to pick up some momentum during this visit. Alabama and Georgia Tech, which hosted Banks on Wednesday for an unofficial visit, will also have a shot here. I’m not expecting a commitment any time soon, but it’s a great opportunity for the Hoosiers to gain some serious momentum in his recruitment.
