Tyler Tachman @Tyler_T15 Just got off the phone with Xavier Johnson. He said he’s planning on arriving in Bloomington in May. He’s already been in contact with some of his new teammates: “I just told them be ready to work. The main thing I’m coming to do is win.”

Or maybe major life decisions are stressful and not everyone makes them instantaneously. For a guy who supposedly loves attention, he has been very quiet in the press and social media.

That’s EXACTLY what it means. I am longing for the days when a road team comes to Assembly Hall already expecting to lose. I need to see other teams’ fans complaining about the ‘Hall of Calls’ because the refs are intimidated. I want to see us run run run. I want to see us foul hard and bring in fresh, tough bodies when we do. I want to see a defensive feeding frenzy. I want to see the other team’s coach T’d up out of pure frustration. I want the bottom of the B1G to be steamrolled, and the top to be worried. When we lose games, I never want us to be sad or level headed afterwards. I want us to be angry. Not just the fans—the players and the coaches. I want them to be completely pissed. I want our team to hate losing more than they love winning. For other teams? “It’s not gon be sweet.”

Franklin averaged 11 ppg on a 12 win team. He was good not great. He can be replaced and IU is still talking to other capable guards that are interested. IU will be just fine.

Sean Miller, who in addition to being fired as Arizona's coach today, is a former point guard at Pitt, where he ... ... helped create the famous "SEND IT IN, JEROME" call in 1988 by delivering the assist to Jerome Lane, who broke the backboard against Providence, where ... ... Al Durham, our starting guard the past four years, just transferred. What does that all mean? Nothing. Or does it????

I have been relatively disengaged from IU basketball for years now. Year in and year out, I tried to tune in early but saw where the season was headed and couldn't do it. I got to were I wouldn't even know I was missing a game until my son at UF would text me about the score. Now I have to deal with CMW, Dane Fife, and this collection of portal returns and transfers. I was almost out!!! Now I have been sucked back in and have a renewed excitement I haven't felt since the Knight years. In my minds eye I can remember watching the 1987 championship as a freshman at a frat house and then a drunken run to Showalter Fountain, where the fish went missing for days. CMW was not my first choice, and maybe it is me trying to rationalize, but I, with the coaching hires/retentions and the players, see no way it could have started better. Damn you, Coach Mike Woodson!!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong I love Roberts but I'm sorry we can do a little better as a 3rd assistant. I know he's an IU guy but hasn't recruited anyone. Player development hasn't been great. I think as DOBO he would be great just not as our 3rd assistant. That would be my first disappointment under Woody. We would go from maybe getting an assistant from a final four program to keeping the 3rd guy from a fired staff.

X needs to work on his jump shot cause Woody and X both say so. And he will. Lander will get bullied in practice and be so much better because of it.

I'm one that believes Rob is going to have a big senior year.

Which is why I don't think Roberts is going to be the 3rd assistant - it would have been announced already. Also, if the plan is to keep him on in another capacity (DOBO?), I think announcing that now could prevent him from having any contact with recruits and potential transfers. Also, its certainly possible that Woody could be targeting some NBA assistants, which might need to be wait until after the season to be announced. In which case, keeping Roberts on as sort of an interim assistant makes a lot of sense. Also, I'm sure that Roberts is free to leave for another job if he'd want to, but that IU could making it worth his while to take a demotion, at least this year while their is a lot of transition. I could see if him keeping his current salary if moved to DOBO

As much as I respect Al Durham and the work he put in at IU I believe adding XJ and bringing back Stewart makes the guard rotation significantly better. At least on paper. XJ sitting at 6’3” 200 plus pounds give a physical guard we sorely lacked for several years. Love the way this team is shaping up.

Small world.....I was a freshman in college when IU won the championship and when I went outside to celebrate, some drunk guy knocked me over and jumped into Showalter Fountain.
