Face masks aren’t about you hiding from a disease they are about not killing other people. People literally won’t do this tiny little thing that will save lives. We are literally just a nation of entitled ******* that think freedom means being entitled to put others at risk

Or if we didn't feed the band. Kidding of course. This game still stings, especially living here in Vol country.

Pretty sure you would be arrested for that BS in some. I know not having a face mask in Germany gets you a hefty fine.

Finished Spymaster (2018) and Backlash (2019) the latest in the Scot Harvath series by Brad Thor. The usual Harvath storyline but enjoyable fast paced reading. Really should read Spymaster first as there is an underlying storyline that carries forward into Backlash. The next in the series will be released on July 21, titled Near Dark.

    Coronavirus and Its Impact

We can either call all countries liars who have posted good results and continue what we are doing or we can try to learn from them. I know which one I would choose.

Or, just perhaps, masking and quarantine are sufficient and we've failed at that in comparison

Those numbers don’t pass the common sense test. They just don’t. I know many people want to blame our politics/citizens etc, but other countries aren’t doing things magically better than we are to a point to prove these numbers. A virus “as contagious as this one” would be spreading despite masking/quarantining in all countries. Something about these numbers doesn’t add up. Either we are inflating or other countries are deflating or both. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    Coronavirus and Its Impact

This morning I read that leadership at the federal level threatened to cut funding to schools that don't reopen this fall. Leadership mentioned other countries around the world that are open with no problems. Here's the list of yesterday's new COVID19 cases in the countries mentioned: Denmark: 10 Norway: 11 Sweden: 57 Germany: 298 USA: 55,442

Indiana’s Archie Miller will virtually meet with Top-75 junior James Graham III, he told @Stockrisers. Expect Michigan State to do the same at some point next week.

Lol what a classy and substantive post. But hey why change now. Remember when this was all going to disappear because a certain group of people said it would. How did that work out?

The only thing we've accomplished is weakening ourselves on the world stage; Putin is laughing his arse off because that was exactly what he wanted. Oh I forgot, we also ticked off and insulted our allies and somehow made wearing masks a political statement.

    Coronavirus and Its Impact

We have been isolating and pushing away many of our real allies (Europe mainly, but Canada and parts of Asia as well) for the past four years in favor of more aggressive foreign policy (Chinese tariffs, threats to EU, pulling out of several international treaties). Some people see this as us not putting up with foreign influence, to at one end I understand, but I see it as us lessening our ability to influence international policy to the point where many of our traditional allies openly mock us and go out of their way to say they don't agree and won't be following our lead. WHO definitely dropped the ball and deserves criticism, but we should be using our power and money to fix the system - not create a GIGANTIC opening for other rich and powerful countries (China) to fill in a dictate international influence. We are seeing this exact same issue in other places in the world (Africa and South America) where our inaction and isolationist policies have created an opening for an authoritarian government (again, China) to come in and create influence. Foreign policy in the 21st century is not and cannot be the same as it was in the 20th. Bombing countries only works so much and it doesn't lead to long term peace and prosperity. Sorry for the soapbox. Also want to be clear, I am talking about governments, not people.

The first wrong was what they did. The second wrong was the DNR not arresting them. In the degree of wrongs, an internet troll putting ‘public restroom’ as a description on the business one of them owns doesn’t even register.

OT - Bloomington, a city on the brink?

No arrests yet does not necessarily mean no arrests. There are so, so many variables that may contribute to that decision, both for and against a quick arrest. Among just a couple of them? For a quick arrest: Alleviate public scrutiny Reduce chances of property damage/unrest because of public's expectations not being met Against quick arrest: Grand jury testimony and subpoenas may no longer be available once charges are brought- moves to discovery phase Evidence may be harder to acquire once charges are brought Cooperation may be more easily obtained from subjects or un-indicted co-conspirators before charges are brought There are so many factors at play here. Sometimes, it's because local law enforcement or prosecutors are tone deaf or biased. Sometimes/many times, it is because there are many strategic considerations that the public is not aware of.

Cameron Drummond Q and A with Will Lovings-Watts. No indications that he won't be back playing at Jeffersonville this next season. I just talked to Archie Miller the other day. He was telling me how I’m on their radar and how they really like the style I play. They said they want to get me on campus. https://www.insidethehall.com/2020/07/07/q-a-class-of-2022-shooting-guard-will-lovings-watts-talks-iu-recruiting-interest/?fbclid=IwAR3pwB3EAIQ6-TNsCSITmxN_1bhHaNujifbuOYiP4RWRmcCk8H2bKXzpAMY

Link Sports Illustrated article talking to some UM insiders about what the college football season is shaping into. Summary: - Schools are looking into regional schedules. No games where a team cannot bus to and back from on game day. Would apply to all fall sports. “One Big Ten West program planning on multiple FCS opponents.” - Potential for home and home series in the conference. - At least one Big Ten school will likely not play this fall, with potential for a few others to follow. No one wants to be the first to announce. - IU was mentioned several times by these insiders as a team that is planning to play this season.

How are we to judge athletes like Vic on his decisions for his own life? He is coming off a devastating injury that might have ended most athlete’s careers. He worked his way back to playing real games and then the season was halted. The rhythm is now gone, and he is more susceptible to re-injury. He is also about to enter a contract year. If he hurts himself again, he will not get near the amount of money he would have gotten if he were to get to 100% and had an All-Star year. If he leaves, I’m sure it’s in his best interest whether that be money or a better situation for him. Vic knows himself best, and he shouldn’t be called a prima donna. He is doing what he thinks is best for him. His health and life are more important than the Pacers making the Eastern Conference semifinals.

All I have to say is that if paying college players becomes legal, I'd better get my damn EA Sports 2K NCAA football and basketball back.
