TDH: When you think about your freshman season at Indiana, what does success look like to you? Geronimo: I think a successful first year will be me just doing what I’m told. If I’m a role player, I’ll be the best role player there is. If I’m on the court for defense and rebounds, and I’m going to go out there and try to do as much as I possibly can. Just be the guy that the team needs to win. I just want to help the team get better. A team wins because it is better than a single player. Yes, please. Exactly what AJ Moye said the summer before he arrived. ‘Coach wants rebounds, I’ll get rebounds...‘

Written by Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle) The Indiana Hoosiers received a verbal commitment from three-star wide receiver Jordyn Williams on Friday afternoon. Williams, out of Westover High School in Albany, Georgia made his announcement on Twitter. That answer is so pitch perfect I would say it was scripted, except he’s said some derivation of it over and over. Just a hell of a kid.

OMG! someone started a gun thread. I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl (ie, Aloha). I love G-U-N-S! I have one or two of them in all types and varieties. I'm building me and the wifey a couple of nice little ARs at the moment just for giggles, starting with an Armstrong Lower ( I know i could have got a better lower but i have a vision of OD green for mine and maybe yellow for hers) See what COVID has done to me! I'm no longer black or spray painted camo for my ARs. For hunting: I have my trusty 30.06 for everything up here in AK but looked yesterday at at a 6.5 creedmore because i'm getting antsy for hunting season. I don't think i will buy it because my 30.06 has been nothing but reliable and deadly for the past 20 years. For handguns, i carry a .40 cal and sometimes .357 SP101 depending on my mood. my .40 stays mounted in my Jeep Gladiator. I used to carry a Nighthawk Custom .45 but that just stays in the vault nowadays. I have gone away from packing .45s for one reason or another (that's another discussion all together). Don't believe in 9mms even though i have a couple from my previous life. I can talk others elsewhere. Just not in this thread. lol

Pre-kids I’d have been all over this thread. Browning O/U, Benelli autos, SR-15, DDM4, Wilsons, Baers, Colts, some of the rare imported stuff from Arsenal, Bulgarian and Russian. All the 9mm Glocks. All the Sigs (this is back when P228 was preferred over P229 and a compact single stack meant P225 and P239). Some nice HKs (VP9 is so sweet!). Brief foray into chasing the no dash, -1 and -2 Smiths. Quite a few builds. Weekends at Atterbury (before and after the makeover), Atlanta Conservation Club (dabbled in IDPA), Indy Gun Club (sporting clays only). I was on ARFCOM for the sunset In 2004, and rode through several of the panics over the years. The hobby more or less just lost its priority spot and the collection is gone. I have kids. My shooting buddies have kids. And maybe I need to get my testosterone checked because I get more excited about gardening, cooking, and I’d really like a sailboat.

Same for me as for Strom. Really long career in law enforcement. Used to enjoy occasional extra practice rounds with my Glock. Now? Nah - not necessary and I have more enjoyable hobbies for me, mainly revolving around food, drink, and exercise. Have an incredible home coffee/espresso setup, liking the whiskey/bourbon thing, learning to smoke meat, and started running distances again.

    Coronavirus and Its Impact

Georgia is going to be hard to gauge because of how they keep their data on their state coronavirus site. If you go to their website, their are huge delays in the reporting of cases there. There are huge delays in their reporting system (at least compared to Indiana). Their state website states that the last two weeks are just preliminary counts. Their last two weeks of data look more like a dot to dot puzzle than a graph. They have a 'preliminary curve', but the reality is that their reporting is so slow that their data that can be used to make conclusions can be more than 11-12 days old. So if you want to have thirty days of data to gauge them, you likely will have to wait six weeks from when they opened to look....their first stage of opening was April 24th, so six weeks would be around June 7th. It's also important not to extrapolate too much from it to other states unless the infection rates are similar -- Georgia's rate of infection is only about 60% of the national average (BTW, Indiana is right at the national average). https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-19-daily-status-report

Pistol wise it’s tough being left handed. I find my H&K VP9 very friendly. sweet gun. I have a M&P15 and a M&P 15-22 which is really fun. Just picked up 10,000 rounds for it for maybe $400. That’s close anyway which included shipping to Florida. Yeah, I buy my ammo from Indiana! [emoji6] Next up will be a Benelli 12g. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

    College Bball Thread

Thanks! I'm sure Painter's response would be almost exactly along those lines and the frustration would be understandable to a point. The problem is a coach can't have it both ways publicly, either he is disappointed and leaves it at that or it is a frustration removed in which case he doesn't say anything. Painter's comments would be much more understandable and even laudable if Eastern were the first player to leave this year instead of the most recent of several. Also, it would help if Painter hadn't used a similar deflection a few years ago when he talked about getting back to recruiting "Purdue type players" to excuse a poor season.

I think New Albany was 14-10 last season. They return their best player in Kaden Stanton, a Sophomore point guard. He is quick but not very big. I’m not sure who will be their next best option. Julian Hunter was and he just signed to play with IU-Kokomo. New Albany does have a great following with a lot of long time season ticket holders. Even during the bad years, the gym is usually at least half full. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

The only person who has built any credibility, from my view, is Chris. Everyone else just throws mud against the wall. Coach SS seems like a good guy but he’s often wrong. A pinch of salt should be prescribed for each one of his takes.
