What are your thoughts on retail? I personally don't see a problem with it. Folks have been packing into target and Walmart for the last 6 weeks. This won't be much different. If anything it could reduce crowding because everyone won't be packed into the same 2-3 stores. I think opening them before restaurants makes sense.

    Coronavirus and Its Impact

The number of confirmed cases is pretty meaningless, imo. 25-50% of people are asymptomatic. There are tens of thousands of unconfirmed cases in the state, and millions in the country. 80% of ventilators and 44% of ICUs are available in Indiana. The number of beds, ventilators, and ICUs in use has been decreasing over the past couple weeks.

Negative! I kept telling them I felt like it was something else. The Dr was an IU fan- we bs’d for awhile about sports. He told me that based on my ability to talk w/o taking a pause, and my vitals that I was good to go! But I have a standing order for a test if I want it. I’ll be so glad to be done w all this! It’s a separate population. The meat packers aren’t getting sick from the meat. They are getting sick from their coworkers. If you take the sick people out and replace them with people not sick then the spread stops. So it’s not a given that guardsmen will get sick

    Coronavirus and Its Impact

Isn't the greater threat of death from an overburdened healthcare system resulting in the sick not being able to get adequate care rather than simply dying from the disease itself? On that front, Indiana seems to be in a very good position with the percentage of ICUs and beds available. I think that is mostly due to social distancing. That being said, I know people that know at my job feel good about the future. They are also still taking tons of precautions and taking a more conservative approach to getting operations back to normal (or rather the new normal post COVID). For example, as a non-healthcare worker, I will likely be working from home well into the summer.

2 thoughts. Look at death rates. Look at death rates of other outbreaks. Something is clearly different here and based off the numbers alone you wouldn’t be seeing this reaction. This information tells me there is something more at play. If they are willing to shut down entire countries based off these numbers, there is somethings we aren’t privy to. Coronavirus and Its Impact

They have done around 5,000 tests. They took the local data they had and equated it to the state and then the whole country without context, just a blanket. They used that local (Bakersfield) data to equate this to the flu. This was made by two doctors who are co-owners in a chain of for profit ambulatory practices. So they have a special interest in everything opening up. That’s why they had quite a few people locally come out against their conclusions. At this point what they said will further stoke the people that are all about opening everything now. The people against that will point out what their interests are and point to nobody is backing them. If I forgot anything I am sure someone will fill in the blanks. I put in an order today through a local farmer's consortium for goods (mostly meat). Costs more (although I think we are headed toward) but do like putting money toward local grower's at this point. Me and my wife had decided to take our stimulus money and put it toward local charities and businesses....we are in a position where at least for the near future, there isn't any effect on our jobs/pay. We are both in education and while there are certainly going to be some implications to education due to loss in tax revenue, for the time being that isn't an issue. Put money to the local food bank and donated to a local business that is certainly suffering right now but has been known to be one that has been known to be charitable toward others in need. Anyone else have thoughts as to ideas to help out local economies/peole in this time of need?

Okay.... 1) Here is the link to Indiana. Deaths are down. That was the point. Let's stay away from spin and technicality. Nobody wants to be "that guy." Well...almost nobody. 2) Conspiracy? So you're assuming then that "presumptive deaths" is an accurate number, then? The CDC...not exactly a conspiracy-laden organization, said 2 weeks ago that 78% of people who died "with" COVID 19 had a co-morbidity. Those all count as COVID deaths. They do NOT all count for the co-morbidity. That's not deep state. That's you SAYING it's deep state because you heard someone else say it is. That's from the CDC. But hey...spin it so you can believe it's a conspiracy. That's easier when you disagree with something. I get it, Edit : Here's an example from today. 4 month old with a heart condition goes into the hospital with a fever. Initially tests negative for COVID-19, eventually tests positive. Begins recovery from COVID-19. Lungs clearing. Something happens...nobody knows what, and she ends up tragically passing away. Death counted as a COVID death, but nobody knows what she really died from. But she died "with" COVID-19, even though she was in recovery. This isn't deep state or conspiracy. This is what's happening in the world if you're brave enough to look. https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/494463-4-month-old-daughter-of-nyc-firefighter-dies-of-coronavirus-family

Sweden currently has the highest death rate among Scandinavian countries. Sweden's approach by design will feature short-term spikes to get to long-term immunity. Now look at them compared to other European countries. They're doing better than Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, and the U.K., despite those countries being shutdown for weeks and weeks. We were told that unless we close the entire country down, our hospitals will be completely overrun and our doctors will be choosing who lives and who dies. Yet, Sweden never closed down and that has not happened. Their hospitals are under capacity. Their ICUs are not overcapacity. And their capital could reach herd immunity in weeks.

Then why do you keep doing it? If you truly think what I say on a message board is dangerous, you'd better believe I'm worth stalking. Dangerous to who? Enough stupid people read this that correcting you and showing the Indiana State Department of Health page is dangerous? Lies? Here are numbers from the CDC today : Newly-reported deaths: Today: 1,772 Yesterday: 1,886 One week ago (4/17): 2,069 Deaths...down...nationwide, even though that wasn't what I said, nor what I meant. Who was wrong about this? OH!! YOU!!! Or were you "lying?" Good grief. Also, peak deaths in Indiana on April 14th, trending consistently down since then (that's more than one day, right?). Are you unable to read a bar graph? That shouldn't surprise me, but for some reason it does. You saying "the more you're wrong" doesn't actually make that true you know. I have asked you several times to show your work and you haven't yet done it, so my guess is you'll just keep coming back with that and hope some of these people to whom I might be dangerous actually believe it. Because that will mean........that......that will mean.....uh..... Stop stalking. Just...stop.
