You created an account to post this? Within two minutes of creating an account you posted this and in another thread asking if IU practices shooting. I am stepping out a limb here, but I think you are probably a familiar face around these parts. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Excellent ball control with the hooks and using glass and deep. Has handles to go 1 on 1. Seems to score at will against option 2&3. Should we be concerned or happy we’re in the hunt? Awesome video.

Is it too much to ask to have a football program on par with Iowa or Nothwestern? Seems like we are light years away from even that expectation.

Lander may or may not end up in Bloomington. But your analysis strikes me as off. Phinisee and Lander would have exactly zero problem playing together defensively, unless you think that Lander is just going to be a disinterested defender. But he’s already a long 6’3”, and apparently still growing, with flat out elite movement skills. Neither he nor Phinisee is defensively system limited in any way. I would foresee a Sr Phinisee/Fr Lander backcourt providing exceptional ball pressure and being highly disruptive creating turnovers and pushing pace. And any moron could scheme them offensively. If he ends up elsewhere, he ends up elsewhere. But system and personnel fit don’t strike me as the slightest issues.

Unfortunately, those who picked IU picked poorly. @Old Friend won the week with 112 pts, no one picked 51 for O$U or a paltry 10 for IU. From hereon forward, the lowest 2 scores will be taken off your total which makes for a strange looking overall leaderboard this week. Basically, its your single best score in the 1st 3 games. That’s almost verbatim what Kentucky fans have said in the past about calipari. It’s laughable, clearly they will go to LSU or anywhere that will pay them. I have no doubt the vast majority of five stars from Kentucky and duke have been paid Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

You're correct, IMO. I'm not an expert or rabid follower of college football, but I've said for years that pouring money into facilities without ever getting serious about hiring a good coach is a recipe for failure. I've heard the comments that no high profile coach would come to IU, and I get that. I also understand that the longer we wallow in sub-mediocrity it becomes even more unlikely. But, we've gone after guys that had no record of accomplishment - both inexperienced and veteran. Bill Mallory was the best we had and we fired him. Hoepner looked to be on track to potentially being an great coach, but he was tragically taken. I just can't accept the notion that we can't find a very good coach while almost every other school has done it at one period or another over the last 30 years. The hiring of Tom Allen was, IMO, the epitome of feeble, lazy, and uninspired program management. Nothing against the coach, but good Lord at least FG could have made an effort to upgrade the head coach position by conducting a thorough search. It's this ongoing lack of seriousness from the AD office (what 3 or 4 who've held that office) that results in me being only a very casual fan of IU football.

Well if Lander gets to 6’3 they can play in the pack line together. Virginia for example played a 5’9 guard and a 6’3 guard together all season long and I think their season turned out all right. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Great way to end non-conference play and get ready for our B1G opener next week with a 1-0 road win over Kentucky. Ladies make their first half goal stand up and hand Kentucky its first loss. For the game, IU with 8 shots; 1 on goal and 4 corners. Kentucky with 5, 1 & 4. B1G play opens next Friday afternoon in Bloomington against Iowa and then a Sunday afternoon home game against Nebraska.

2 other guys? Lander would get Durham’s minutes right now. Don’t get me wrong, I like watching Durham and appreciate his effort, but he’s not what I would call a particularly good player. The fact that Al would be a senior and would have to compete with a freshman for minutes pretty much says it all. Lander’s only competition for minutes would be Phinisee, and I have a feeling that’ll be the primary reason we don’t land him. Miller clearly wants height and length on the floor and a lineup featuring Phinisee/Lander is a defensive liability in his system. It’ll be one or the other most of the time and I have a hard time seeing Lander take the lead in that battle.

So after today’s performance, if Penix and Ramsey are both healthy, you’re gonna tell me you’d rather have Ramsey out there??? Nobody is saying that Ramsey is the savior, but he gives us a much better chance to win and is WAY MORE DYNAMIC. He can throw with pro level velocity and a as a freshman is already better than the senior and it’d be silly to say there’s nothing special about him. Too add to this. We should never count on a freshmen to start. We should always have a quality upper class men ready to start. Even the five stars I would like to see compete with a savvy upperclassmen for the job.

While umpires make errors, I hate the idea of an automated strike zone. As a coach of the game players are becoming self-entitled babies with the strike zone. How many good strikes do players watch, and then argue at a borderline pitch that can go either way. Sorry, no sympathy here. Baseball has too many changes that people want to make. Some are great, but making everything automated will take so much away from this game imo. I will still watch baseball if it happens, but I love the umpires making the calls! There needs to be a wider strike zone anyway. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
