(2018) SF - Jerome Hunter to IU

With recruiting news kinda slow I've been watching a ton of our recruits highlights. Jerome REALLY excites me. If he can become a legit 2 guard, we could potentially have a star on our team. He's got the length and athleticism already to hang with pros. Has a nice shot with a quick release. Handles are pretty good but can use a little work. Give him 1 season and he'll be a stud. I know it's early and I'm high on him, but he has tons of NBA potential.

Well that would change a lot for this team. Would make them a top five team in the B1G if CuJo could do substantially more than shoot jumpers. Have to see it to believe it, and lord I hope I do.

Don't plan on that. CuJo has been making huge strides and word is he has been the best player not named RoJo or De'Ron on our team so far. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

I just watched some of his highlights too. He has good athleticism, but his game doesn't seem to rely on it which is good. He does a good job of following his shot. There were a few clips of him posting up. Running him at 2 guard and designing plays to get him post touches could create some mismatch advantages.

It would be nice to bring in another big but I have heard there is a real 'lack' of bigs for 2018 and apparently most of the good ones reside on the west coast. Therefore, if you want CAM to bring in a big you may have to go the developmental route in getting a lesser heralded player or go the transfer/JUCO route. I don't know if CAM did much of that at Dayton. 2019 though seems to have quite a bit more bigs to choose from.

If Archie wants him, that's good enough for me. Between him and Ed, they know a little bit about the PG position. Sent from my SM-G900V using BtownBanners mobile app

One thing I take solace in is the fact that Archie played the position. He knows the ins and outs of it, which no doubt he would use to mentor any PG we get. Out of all the positions on the team I feel like Archie would be able to groom whatever PG we get into a really solid player.

Given the uncertainty of a new coaching staff we started with, I probably wouldn't complain too much about that as an initial class.

I agree with this. In addition I'd think it also mean CAM should be pretty good at identifying PG potential and capabilities during the scouting and recruiting process.

Rojo is a guy that responds proportionally to his coaching. I have high hopes for him this year.

I think we're gonna see these players go beyond even their own expectations

Why O why do I have a feeling we'll fill out the class with Phinisee, Langford, and Henry?

I don't see him committing during his season.

Rebounding and specifically boxing out don't have much to do with size.

I disagree, DeRon is the only Center and Race and Juwan are only 6'7". Need moar big.

(2018) SF Louis King to Oregon

Yeah, kinda wish he would've just done it already. I like to keep track of the recruiting game, even when 2 sleazy programs from our southern neighboring state and the University of No Classes rake in a lot of top talent. I feel like a glutton for punishment sometimes. But soon.... We will feel the winds of change.... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Comes into play in rebounding, seeing over defenses. Switching. Finishing at rim. Reach for steals. Boxing out. Shooting outside shot with confidence of not being blocked. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Ohio State recently got a visit and is trending for Elijah Weaver (6'4" PG comp #36). This is an example of why I worry Phinisee won't be enough. This would be a beastly matchup disadvantage. Or maybe not, but it doesn't appear on paper to be the way to gain an advantage over our foes. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

I wouldn't be shocked if he decides before his season starts. He's looking to win another state championship for NA and an Indiana Mr. Basketball award. I like IU's chances with everything that's somewhat trustworthy that has been said. Adidas, somewhat close to home, not currently involved in hookergate, etc.

That's Crean. Doesn't change the fact he offered after 10 minutes of open gym. Same type story as Young Hoetz the Flame Thrower. I'd like our coaches to do a little more due diligence before committing 4 years of a scholarship. Will turned out great for us. Some gambles did, some didn't. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners
