(2015) SG Shake Milton to SMU

Since Trot got to IU, all the recruits have been assigned to him and he is the one that's suppose to show them HOW GREAT OT WOULD BE AT IU!! I think, and I lay be a bit bias, he had done a pretty good job so far. Now with him being a Sophomore, I'm not sure if he will still be doing that. I know Troy has always been, since he was 2 years of age, a PEOPLE'S person. He made friends everywhere we went. Used to make me wonder what my son is saying to these kids. Lol

I'm going to try my best. It just cost a lot to get to Indiana on my budget but with God, all things are possible. I know we will be in New York and Maryland in Dec and Feb. last year we went to 4 home games. Hopefully my mom and I can get to that many this year. I saw more on TV. I like the TV also. I get instant replay and can here the commentator comments. Even last year I wanted to throw bricks and boulders at my television because of their comments. Lol. I truly believe this year is going to be amazing with the chemistry the guys all have with each other, from what Troy says. They seem to be closer and not out for themselves, but for the "TEAM!" That to me is WHAT CHAMPIONSHIPS are made of. WE ARE GOING FURTHER THIS YEAR. I FEEL IT!!

When I was there I love it. And I have a home jersey, so you know I was feeling it in there. And the parents sit on the bleachers right behind the team. My brother told me not to start hollering at the coach like I did when Troy was playing Rec., AAU, High school and at Oak Hill. I hollered at the coaches as much as I got on Troy for making inexcusable shots, fouls, and turnovers. YEAH, I AM ONE OF THOSE MOMS. I stay on Troy, even after the games I've watched on TV. I tell him everything he needs to do, and what he shouldn't do. Hahahahaha. He goes, "Come on mom, you never played!" I tell him, "But I've been watching basketball since I was 4 and Boo started playing at 12 years old. My sister and I was dragged to every Jr. high, High school and a lot of the college games plus I was a cheerleader for 13 years. So don't tell me what I Do not know!" Then we laugh and he listen. I can't wait till the season starts. I am so hyped and AMPED UP!!! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Here's the post game presser. The only thing CKW says about the fans is that he apologizes for the team basically playing like crap. If Dakich has something else where he blasts the fans, I'd like to see the source before we hang the coach for something he didn't say.     http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&list=PLA974898879A2E497&v=OyhTZW4uWYQ

. Just look for the loud bald female behind the bench. Either standing and fussing or sitting and shouting. I'm going to have my home IU jersey "5" on.

Seems to be some serious family stuff making him lean towards home. IU is not a longshot and certainly would not count them out but like I said before...

It's the conundrum when recruiting high-character kids.   They don't have handlers; they have families that they're extremely close to.  Those families want to be near them.

Wilson blaming the fans isn't the greatest move, especially considering they more or less packed his stadium to watch them get embarrassed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

All I know for sure is I often embarrass myself by the words that come out of my mouth during games. I have such a passion for the HOOSIERS.

Well the thing is, not matter what happens, people complain. Even after a win its the same. I get the whole idea of looking for things to improve upon, etc but it gets old after awhile. Also the thing is, no matter how much people complain or whatnot….Crean is still the coach right now and there is nothing that complaining will do about it. Tickets keep getting sold out, he keeps bringing in quality players, so its probably satisfying Glass and the admins right now.

    I hate the Big Ten

I feel your pain. It's frustrating how nothing ever seems to change with this program. It really isn't that difficult to make a bowl game in this day and age, yet we're hoping like hell we somehow do it. I know there are structural barriers to overcome, but it's not like we're Eastern Michigan or New Mexico State. This program has what it needs to win and get better, but it just doesn't happen.      I mentioned this in the game thread, but I've developed a masochistic way of rooting for my football teams because I grew up supporting really bad ones. Think of watching a game with your friends, and after a negative play someone says "Oh come on, how does that happen?" That's basically what I do on here. I think of game threads as a place for knee-jerk reactions and things you'd say out loud just to be funny. Some people play along and contribute other humorous overreactions or sarcastic remarks. Others hate it and act like you told them their first-born child will never amount to anything in life. I do this with many teams I support because I care about them, not because I'm "not a real fan." I've been called every name in the book by fans (mostly not on this board) who don't want to hear "negative comments," but you just have to let them be.      It's just the way we're wired as fans. Life would be boring if everyone reacted the same way to everything.

Another game where we lack discipline and simply do not look like a well-coached team.  I see CKW raging against the refs on the field, then whatever he said post-game about the fans...man, look at yourself and your own staff.  Do better, coach 'em up better.  Instill better focus & discipline, call better plays, etc.    But whatever.  I'm not even mad.  Just really, really disappointed.  Feels like another 5-7 season in the making.

Does anyone know if he's extending his OV another day due to the delay, or essentially cutting it short a day because of the delay?

I can promise you if Crean was successful in what he was hired to do it wouldn't be this way with the negativity. Coaches at IU are compared to others as you well know being a student in the 80's. If you can tell me after year 6 what about Crean gives you all these reasons to be positive in his coaching or plan to be successful? I get the whole let's be positive for ole IU. All of us that posts here wants us to win every game. But, the fact remains Crean has underacheived based on our own standards and even those that gave him a three year pass when he started. Will this finally be the year he is held accountable for actual coaching? Or should we just continue to blindly follow him until Glass cuts him loose?

This Started It All for Me

I was born and raised in Muncie. The '76 team got me hooked around age 13. Watched as many games as I could on an extremely "fuzzy" channel 4. Loved watching them win it all as the last undefeated champ.   My father was a music professor at Ball St. and hated IU because the best potential students would always pick Bloomington (recruiting of a different kind). About 5 years ago before he passed away, I went to visit him and was wearing an IU t-shirt. He looked at me with disgust and just shook his head. I said; "Sorry Dad, it's my favorite basketball team, nothing personal". I guess for him he just couldn't get past that feeling towards IU.

Most of my family are IU fans, when I was a year or two old I had a stuffed animal that sang the fight song and I of course learned it and sang with it. I'd always said I was an IU fan, but never really watched any games, except the occasional IU vs. UK game. When I was in eighth grade I had a teacher that was a big IU fan and for some reason I decided to start watching the games. I haven't missed a game since. I've skipped going to other things to make time for IU basketball.
