Here’s a revelation: Some people suck and even squared away people sometimes vehemently disagree. Great leaders find a way even given those always present situations.

Yup…this. Because it was a non-binding referendum it simply revealed a major schism; nothing more and nothing less, but a notable moment nonetheless. For me? At that point it doesn’t matter all that much what the issues are.

What strikes me is that, while only 900+ of over 3,500 faculty voted no confidence, with a vote that all knew was coming, less than 100 voted to support Pres Whitten. No matter who is “right” or “wrong” (and the truth about those things is usually complicated) that seems to me that it’s a clear sign of an untenable situation. I’d be pretty surprised if she’s President a year from now and I’m guessing she’s got her resume circulating.

Ummmmm…. Which coach are they willing to do that for? Most P5 teams have zillionaire donors. That budget still needs to attract talent. Ballo apparently gave IU a discount over other programs so that he could play for Mike Woodson.

Oh completely agree! It seems as though the aggrieved were motivated, but the proponents of Pres Whitten among faculty were really hard to find.

But there are certainly more than 948 faculty who would have been eligible to vote. Only one side of the vote was motivated to take the time to do so apparently.

Well stated. No matter whom are right or wrong or how one feels about various issues, this is some high drama beyond those issues. Major personality clashes.
