(2018) SG Cormac Ryan

I get that it's a mixtape but...

- kid is a shooter, give him time to click his heels you might as well count it

- not going to be a great slasher/driver but he'll get some chances after guys fly by him on the arc

- shows hustle but can't determine defense

I like the guy as an off the bench second wing scorer. He looks like he could go all Matt Roth and hit 6-8 threes at anytime.

Interesting how our perceptions vary.  My thought was as I watched is that he wasn't just a stand outside and jack it up but he showed he wasn't afraid to take it to the bucket and made several nice drives to the basket.  Definitely a shooter and seemed to run the court well.  Definitely agree that the mix tapes never give us one clue as to what kind of defense a kid plays.

I agree he made good drives the bucket. I was more projecting his game to college. I don't see him getting a lot of those same buckets in the lane in college. He'll have open lanes after a shot fake but he'll need to bulk up and take it hard in the lane or he won't score much around the rim in the B1G.

Although we offered back in July, wouldn't seem to be a lot of interest on his part as we really haven't heard much more about him interacting with our program.

ESPN60 guard Cormac Ryan is finishing up an unofficial visit to Stanford today. He visited Villanova, Yale, and Penn last week.

I know his AAU coach and he posted something on Facebook today about Ryan's great 2016 and the schools he's visiting and the interest he's drawn and no IU mention. The only mentions were Nova, Penn, Yale, and Stanford. The mention of those schools though was in the context of schools he's visited unofficially to close out the year.
