Troy doesn't have that skill set. That is the problem. He isn't a 3 and D player. Because he can't shoot 3's and can't play D. He could be one if he worked at it and understand that it's the only way he will make it.

Let me be clear, I think he has 0 chance of making a squad this year and it was a bad decision to come out. But if he truly works at what he needs to he has potential to make a squad in the next couple of years.

He has the potential but he doesnt. He does because the resources are there to become a Trevor Ariza. A reliable defender that can hit the 3. I don't think he'll be anywhere near Ariza though. Ariza is a starter in the league and has been on a title team. He doesn't have the potential because I don't think he understands what he needs to do and the people surrounding him don't know either. Like his mama.

I think the issue is that after 3 years in college if a guy was anything more than potential he would have shown it.

Troy has the potential to be an NBA player. He has the physical attributes that you need to make it in the league. I just haven't seen anything at all in his three years at IU that suggests he's ever going to realize his potential.

Right.. he shot 38-117 in 3 years. His shot mechanics are poor to say the least. His best bet to make the league is to try and be Trevor Ariza.

So there's no room for improvement? He shot 35% last season. Don't hear people knocking on Oladipo's past and how poor he shot 3's.

Victor shot 44.1%(30-68) his Junior year. Troy shot 34.7%(26-75).

Watched the Suns game last night, I'll be honest I was pleasantly surprised at how good Troy looked. He's better when he isn't a featured part of an offense.
