They're both guards, that's the connection.  If we miss on Waters, the next best option is we go and get a 5* talent at another guard spot rather than take a flier on some unknown 3* PG.  We need talent regardless of position.

Randolph at 6-6 would play more of a wing in Crean's system though. I would connect him more with missing on Wilkes, Tucker, and maybe Smith before Waters. Waters is likely to lead the team as a sophomore until he leaves the program. I agree we need talent regardless of position. Randolph would be that versatile player at the 2/wing position. We do need a lead guard in '17 or '18.

Brandon Randolph (No. 40) tells me he will announce his college decision tomorrow night. Arizona, Syracuse, Oregon, Wake Forest involved.

I don't get it, but Arizona recruiting is phenomenal.

Miller is a great recruiter. Not sure how dirty he is but whatever he does, it works. Not the greatest coach though considering how much talent is usually on his roster
