^^ That's really exciting!  I remember when Evan signed- there was a mention of his sister playing volleyball.  I honestly never thought she'd come here, since she's kind of an elite player (no knock on Aird, but IU isn't exactly a vball powerhouse,    yet).  Glad to have her!

This is a great pickup. I believe Emily is a 6ft setter who has also played outside hitter. She's come from winning programs, club and HS. The Big Ten is the power conference in women's volleyball and Ms Fitzner is coming to an up and coming program in a big time conference. Exciting times. This is the new Indiana.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana head coach Steve Aird has announced the addition of transfer Megan Sloan. Sloan spent her first three years of collegiate volleyball at Louisville.
Sloan, a 6-1 outside hitter, from Zionsville, Ind., will join the Hoosiers in the spring semester and play her senior season at Indiana.
Sloan had a breakout season in 2018 as she recorded 225 kills and hit .277 in 25 matches and 85 sets with the Cardinals.
"Megan is a veteran player with great pedigree and longstanding ties to IU," Aird said.  "She is a competitive kid with a good arm and will add a great deal to our roster."
In a win against North Carolina, Sloan tallied a career-high 18 kills and hit .372 in the match. Sloan also posted double-digit kills against Florida and Purdue and hit .500 with 11 kills in a win over Duke.
"I couldn't be more excited to come into this growing program and play in the best conference in the country," Sloan said. "It's an incredible opportunity to represent Indiana and get after it one last time."
Sloan played for Jean Kesterson at Cathedral High School and was part of the No. 1 ranked team in the nation and the 2015 IHSAA Class 4A State Champions. Megan was a First Team All-State honoree in her junior and senior seasons and received All-America Honorable Mention honors in 2015.
Megan is the daughter of Brian and Leslie Sloan. Her father, Brian, was a member of the 1987 Indiana men's basketball National Championship team. Her grandfather, Jerry Sloan is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. He played in the NBA from 1965-1976 and was the head coach of the Utah Jazz from 1988-2011.  Her brother Grant is a sophomore on the IU baseball team and also has a brother, Ben.
Sloan plans to pursue a degree in business at Indiana University.
"We are excited to get Megan to campus in the spring so we can spend the next eight months getting ready for the 2019 season," Aird said.  "She understands the challenge in front of us and is excited for the opportunity."
