(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Recommended Posts

Appreciate USPShoorsier sharing Romeo's insights. Got to admit, I really didn't get any feeling from the comments that Romeo has a significant preference. Something that did stand out was the comments about expectation should Romeo decide to stay home and play for Indiana.  Maybe Coach Miller was trying to set us apart from the other programs and challenge RL that the expectation for him could be greater at Indiana since everyone in this state knows his name.

Stay home, Romeo. You got this.

Saw an article on twitter I shared that Romeo choose to visit UNC over UK this weekend despite UK wanting him to come for Big Blue Madness. Sounds like UK is all but out.

There have been reports out since right after Team USA trip they were out. National guys and Kentucky insiders/radio.

Not that I think it makes a difference but UCLA, mainly Sam Alford, has been in to to see Romeo more than any other school.

Steve or Sam? Sam's not on the staff.

If indeed you really meant Sam and not Steve, maybe that could constitute some arcane NCAA recruiting violation, he says hopefully.

New Albany school official was definitely referring to Sam and UCLA. Didn’t say it was outside the recruiting periods or not. Just alluded to that UCLA had been at New Albany more than any other school. No school stuck out in their opinion as a leader at this point.

"Come to UCLA. My 76 year old dad says it's awesome." - Steve Alford

Any chance it could be seen as a slight that they sent Alford's dad and not a member of the coaching staff? "Sure, we have a large recruiting budget, but I'll just send Dad." Didn't they invest heavily in travel back and forth for Wilkes last year?

@NBASpoilers: Indiana coach Archie Miller at New Albany High School open gym today watching Romeo Langford.

Archie isn't playing around. I love the attitude he brings to the in-state recruits. This state is of monumental importance to recruit. Go get him Archie!

I fully expect UNC to jump right to the top after his visit there this weekend. Hopefully Hoosier Hysteria  restores IU to the lead.

Don't think that will happen. I really think that we are the leader the rest of the way out. If he waits till spring, I think what we look like on the floor we be the only thing that will deter his commitment. He has made it perfectly clear that CAM has instilled what kind of importance to the fans and state this would be, along we how he coaches his guards. Since the UofL debacle and the complete mess there, we dropped into the big chair. A good kid and wants to pay respect to the schools that have been in on him for awhile. But it's IU.
