(2016) SF Mario Kegler to Miss State

Recommended Posts

The zags article confirmed its MSU for Kegler. No surprise there. He and his family (along with S. Herard's) were actively recruiting Davis to join them at MSU. Not sure why he would string us and the twerps along further though. Creating a top 3 days before the decision when you already made your mind up just seems disrespectful to the program's who invested time and resources into you. Not blasting the kids character by any means. Just think it could be handled differently.

Damn that sucks, but the signs said that for a while. Get Davis.

It seems like any time we put into Kegler was a waste of our much reported considerable resources.

Need Davis. Brown holding off stinks right now, but Davis picking Miss. St. is a swift firm kick to the nether region.

Look for Thon, Alkins and spring defections. :)

It's all part of being in the spotlight now for kids these days. They want the drama filled announcement to make this a bigger event than what it should be. Just the norm it seems like these days.

It's not too late. Kegler goes to sleep tonight thinking MSU.  He dreams he is back in The Hall like he was at Hysteria except this time he is on the Court.  He hears the world's largest student section chanting his name as he throws one down and Crean gives him a fist bump  and says welcome to Hoosier Nation. Then he fast-forwards to Starksville where he sees a throng of students rushing toward him and they ignore him except to tell him they are on the way to a football game.  He walks in MSU's bball stadium and there are 12 people there including the janitorial staff. Howland rushes over to him and gives him a big hug and says "This is your life!" Kegler starts twisting and turning and wakes up shouting "Nooooooooo!" He catches his breath and realizes it was all a dream. It's Wednesday and it's time to announce he is going to MSU.  He thinks to himself how great it will be to be the hometown star for a mediocre basketball program that is trying to get the attendance and notoriety that IU already has---doubt starts lurking in---everywhere he looks---he sees Cream and Crimson objects in bold color. He gets to the school and steps to the microphone to make his big announcement and everybody is excited that he will be going to MSU.  He says "I have decided to play basketball for......." and just then he looks up to notice that the school has started to decorate for Christmas. In the middle of the display they are hanging is a huge candy cane----the biggest honkin' candy cane he had ever seen. He sees the red and white candy stripes and knows it's a sign from God. He cannot resist them any longer----he thinks to himself "fear the stripes" and then "join the stripes" and then he repeats his statement: "I have decided to play basketball for....Indiana University!"  And---miles away BTown erupts and everyone--including Kegler---lived happily ever after!

If only the liberals hadn't won the war on Christmas and eliminated candy canes from school!
