Final wrap-up from last weekend's NY2LA event.  Pretty glowing report.

Musa Jallow – 2018 – SF – Team Blaze Select 
Jallow scored in double figures in five-straight games and made it look so easy. He went off against Kessel Heat, going for 24 points, seven rebounds, and six assists on just 12 shots. Then posted 21 points and six boards in short work of the Reach Legends on just 10 shots. Jallow also flited with a triple double against Mac Irvin Fire, racking up 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. Jallow is just a ball player that makes tons of plays in a variety of areas. Offensively, you can clear out and let him go to work from the perimeter, block, or high post. One of the most dominant, all-around weekends, Jallow averaged 17.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per contest in Session 2.

Jallow and his AAU team Team Blaze Select are playing the the Bill Hensley Memorial Run n Slam this weekend.  Don't know how much detailed stats will be provided but in his first game tonight, Jallow put up 22 pts. in the 1st half.

2018 G/F MUSA JALLOW DELIVERING A STELLAR SPRING CAMPAIGN

Indiana is a state known for its basketball. From the likes of Larry Bird, Glenn Robinson, Eric Gordon and countless more, the state churns out elite level basketball players each year and one of the fast risers in the 2018 class hails from Bloomington, Indiana. A prep star at Bloomington North H.S. and competing with Team Blaze Select on the AAU circuit, Musa Jallow is making waves on the recruiting trail with his play over the course of this past year.

At 6’5” and 200 pounds, Jallow is built like a rock and has the kind of athletic traits college coaches covet drawing comparisons to former Michigan State standout and current NBA player Branden Dawson, amongst others. He can leap, he’s powerful enough to mix it up with the bigs down around the painted area, quick enough to stick with most guards on the perimeter and uses his strength well and with control on both ends of the court. Although strong enough compete at the next level already, his frame is setup where he can still add some to his frame and still be loose enough to play on the perimeter, but really take his game up even more when he plays inside.

Defensively, Jallow’s physical traits make him an imposing opponent. When matched up to face guards,  he does a nice job overall of using his feet, sliding and then has a pretty good understanding of how to use his hips and frame to slow down quicker guards without committing fouls. When playing against wings that are more his size, he can overwork them and force them into tough spots on the floor because of his strength, anticipation and ability to guide them with his body. The other aspect to Jallow as a defender is his competitiveness and willingness to matchup against bigger players down low, trusting his physicality, he’ll use his chest to muscle into post players and does a pretty good job of timing his jump, which he bursts off the floor pretty quick, to disrupt shots.

On the offensive side of the court, Jallow’s game is really starting to round out. His jumper is improving and while not entirely consistent yet, the mechanics are there and he gets great lift to release the ball high above defending hands. Jallow also has good enough handles to take care of the ball against smaller guards, and does a nice job using his frame to separate prying hands from getting to the ball when he is driving. He is particularly good when he can have the ball up on the top of the key and then take an angle down either lane-line, and once he gets near the paint, he’s done a nice job of making decisions with the ball, whether it’s recognizing where the help is coming from and dishing off to a cutting teammate, taking it all the way to the rim himself where he can be very explosive, or at time seeing the opportunity for that pull-up.  The next step for Jallow offensively is to really improve his perimeter shooting and turn that into another strength for himself.
 
Surprisingly, I think an underrated aspect of Jallow’s play is his effort on the boards. As mentioned, Jallow has great athletic ability and good size as a wing prospect that doesn’t mind playing all five positions. He high-points the ball on rebounds and has strong enough hands right now to pull it down with some force and not allow others to come in and swipe at it.  Numbers don't lie and Jallow's efforts have his travel team sitting at the top of a loaded Division in the NY2LA Basketball Association after 2 sessions thanks largly to his 16 point, 7 rebound, 3 assist effort so far this spring.

With all these traits and abilities, it is no surprise that Jallow is receiving as much attention as he is lately, and that a number of a high major NCAA Division I colleges have either offered or shown interest in the young man. His major offer sheet so far reads as follows: Butler, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Purdue, Stanford, Toledo, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and most recently he picked up an offer from Ohio State. He is also getting interest from other schools, Oregon being the main.

I don’t have much of a problem saying Jallow is the top 17U prospect in the NY2LA Association. Looking across the board, Jallow is top 15 in the league in just about every major defensive statistical category. A do-it-all prospect with offensive and defensive versatility, Jallow is posting 15.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.0 rebounds per game. He’s also fifth in floor impact. Offensively, Jallow is the type of player you can clear out for on the wing or high post and let him go to work. Jallow is a comfortable three-level scorer with a perimeter and back-to-the-basket game. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound junior makes tough shots look easy, getting big elevation on his shots. Ohio State, Indiana, Butler, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Purdue, Virginia, Northwestern, Virginia Tech, and more are currently in the hunt for Jallow.

Jallow was selected to the NY2LA's All-Spring first team.

The top pure prospect in the Association this spring, Jallow was outstanding in each session of play this spring and his production continued to elevate with each passing game.  One of the top floor impact producers in the league (26.88 FIPG), Jallow shot near 60% from the field while averaging close to 16 points a game, almost 9 rebounds a contest, and 3 assists per game.  Already regarded as a high major prospect with offers on the table from Indiana, Ohio State, Virginia, Stanford, Northwestern, Purdue, etc. amongst others, Jallow is an elite national top 50 caliber prospect who continues to improve.  His efforts this spring secured him an invitation to the prestigious NBPA Top 100 camp in Charlottesville, VA later this month where he will compete with some of the best prospects in the country.  Look for him to have a lot of eyes on him this summer as he’s a premier talent who’s only getting better.

I'm not sure if you were being serious or not.  By all accounts he's having a pretty darn good spring on the NY2LA circuit and has had several really glowing writeups and was just named to the NY2LA All-Spring First Team.  A summary of his stats for the spring are about 4 posts above.  If that's not a good stat line I don't know what is.
