Rampinoe and Holiday had to sit out because they both picked up a second yellow card.  Do they start with a clean slate in the next game or is there an additional penalty for each additional yellow card they might receive?

Fantastic coaching for the USA. Jill Ellis sits high-profile Abby Wambauch and instead uses little energy dynamo Amy Rodriguez to constantly run at the Chinese defenders. Changed the whole dynamic of the game. China barely crossed midfield the whole first half.

Clean slate for all in the semis and final/consolation.

I'm not sure if there would've been additional penalties had their suspension occurred before the quarterfinals.

 

It was 1-0 again, but much more dominating than the past couple games.

I'm thinking it's a matchup thing. I'm guessing they wanted a bunch of speed against China. Although she's pretty fast and skilled too. I think Morgan and Rodriquez did a great job at make good runs. Christen Press played well as a sub too. (And she's a babe)

Got to watch the match yesterday. Really liked USA's pressure for most of the match. Missed some good opportunities, but our defense continued to play great. Can't wait for the next match. Playing indoor soccer is turning me into a soccer fan lol.
