IU Men's Soccer vs Xavier - NCAA Rd 2

Bummer. Watched it live. Underperformed? Or overrated?

Ran into a good goalie but didn't seem to have the needed intensity as a team. A few individuals did.

Also terrible misjudge by Webb to create penalty kick. Wasn't that hard of a play. He was to the ball first, if he in fact went for the ball.

big news for college soccer:  http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/12/08/us-soccer-announce-sweeping-changes-player-development-structures-youth-nati

" U.S. Soccer announced a sweeping series of initiatives and programming changes on Monday, a push intended to help “develop world-class players and coaches” by innovating new approaches to “three core areas” of player identification, training and development and competition.

Spearheaded by US national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann, who also took up the title of technical director when he signed a lucrative new contract last year, the initiatives represent a significant rethink in several areas – and even include addressing the length and structure of the college game, a long-running problem area in the wider player development process.

“U.S. Soccer is collaborating with the NCAA to make changes to the college soccer model that will benefit the health and wellness of the athletes by extending the season over a longer period of time,” the federation explained in a press release. "

dont know when it will take effect.  hopefully, while they're at it, the time will tick up to 45+ and 90+ instead of down to 0.  a half- and game-ending buzzer when the clock strikes zero makes zero sense in this sport.  plus extra time makes the game more exciting, the suspense of a game-tying or tiebreaking goal.

similar to a college coach, part of his job is to recruit undecided dual-national players.  he's brought in johnson, brooks, green, johannsson, chandler, boyd, etc.  germany wanted those first three players.  they want zelalem and parker too.  there will be a klinsmann statue erected in our nation's capital if he lands zelalem.
