Very Alford/Pierre Pierce-esque.

And very disgusting and wrong.

BTW, Izzo did not try to contact the victim.

The son of former player Steve Smith -- Brayden Smith  --  was with Brock Washington (a MSU player) on the night Washington was accused of sexually assaulting a female student. When police went to speak with Smith about what he saw, he said that he already been contacted by Izzo and the coaching staff.

So why did Izzo contact Smith? To tamper with the witness? Your guess is as good as mine, but regardless, it was extremely inappropriate and could easily be considered obstructing an investigation.

Izzo is slimy, but in this case, he didn't do what Alford did with regards to the victim in the Pierre Pierce situation. He didn't try to intimidate or harass the victim.

Very true and well said!

What Alford did was far worse given that perspective.

Well that was certainly a quickie.

Columbia transfer Patrick Tape decommits from Duke

Just over a week ago Columbia transfer Patrick Tape made a verbal pledge to Duke. On Thursday, Tape opted to reopen his recruitment, multiple sources tell 247Sports.  Tape, a 6-foot-10 power forward, initially picked Duke on March 24th over interest from a host of high major programs including Georgetown, Maryland, Ohio State and Syracuse.

The Charlotte native averaged 11.9 points and 5.9 rebounds a game, while shooting 66.7-percent from the field during the 2018-2019 season. Tape sat out the 2019-2020 season.  Tape, who is regarded as one of the top available transfers, is eligible to play next year at whichever school he chooses.

Duke fans believe it’s because someone unexpected (Stanley?) is coming back
