You might be right.
But suppose the NCAA says to Memphis something along the lines of, “You want to play Wiseman? Fine, we can’t physically stop you. But if you do, none of your wins will count. We will not give you a tournament bid. Even if you win your Conference tournament we won’t honor it.”  I don’t pretend to know NCAA bylaws, and I’m entirely too lazy to research it, but I would be surprised if they don’t have that level of control over participants in their own tournament.
What does Memphis do then?
Exactly.

According to Bilas they actually sign something saying they won’t sue the NCAA. People like him that are fairly neutral saying this is beyond a ballsy move. Plus it’s Memphis. I anticipate they will prove a point with them. If Kansas did this? I honestly don’t know.

Insane Stat of the Night: Coppin State (coached by Juan Dixon) had lost 73 straight games to non-MEAC D-1 opponents prior to tonight’s road win against Loyola Chicago. Last victory vs. a non-MEAC D-1 team came way back on Dec. 11, 2013 - when they beat UMBC at home.

NCAA has the Restitution Rule implemented years ago.  I posted the details of it on page 1308 of this thread and yes, the NCAA has the power to do just what you outlined and more.

Saw a pUKe fan at worked and asked how about them Aces.  Thought about saying they big blew it.  Told him not to worry as Cal might never play another team from Indiana after that.

And he will constantly tell the media that it’s because they wouldn’t agree to totally reasonable requests.

Shakespeare himself couldn't have written more beautiful words than these from Jon Rothstein -

Kentucky loses a buy game to Evansville. The epitome of brutality.

Or these words from Ken Pomeroy -

Unbeaten teams remaining: 125 (Sorry, Kentucky).  Unbeaten teams remaining: 112 (Sorry, Memphis).

A couple good games for Wednesday night

LSU at VCU
Villanova at O$U
pu at Marquette
Providence at Northwestern

I really wish the Gavitt Tip-off games would include all Big East teams instead of just 8. It feels like they’re kind of half assing it.

St Joes/UConn if anyone wants to check out a future opponent. Louisville/ISU for you ACC network owners. Sycamores are improved over last year but I don’t think they can win this game

If they do the state of Kentucky will probably remove Indiana from their text books. All 3 of them

Was Brooks even on the floor in the last 10 minutes?  I was switching back and forth so I didn't see all of it.

I did see he only had 6 pts tonight on 3/8 shooting.

lol.

Didn't watch this game, but the game they played MSU, I watched the whole game and I don't remember even seeing Brooks play. Must have been invisible.

Yeah he got an offensive rebound and put back to cut the lead to 2 around the 4 min mark. But he wasn’t in the game after that. He played 21 min which was the second lowest of the 8 players that played. Brooks is going to be fine. He chose the path that he thought was best for him. I still look forward to watching him play this year
