#IUMS vs Michigan State

GAMEDAY! We close out the regular season tonight @ 6pm ET against Sparty. We need a win and help from OSU, NU and Maryland to finish 4th so we can host a quarterfinal this Sunday in the B1G tournament. Go Hoosiers!

• Michigan State is 9-4-4 overall and 3-2-2 in Big Ten play, coming off a 3-2 loss to Michigan on November 2. 
• Much like Indiana, Michigan State scoring is a team effort with Jason Stacy, Jay Chapman and Zach Carroll tied for the team lead with four goals each. 
• Stacy also leads the squad with seven assists. 
• The Spartans are out-scoring opponents 22-12, including a 10-3 goal advantage in the first half of play. 
• Goalkeeper Zach Bennett has started all 17 matches, playing 1600:59 minutes with 12 goals allowed and 61 saves for a 0.67 GAA. He also has nine solo shutouts.

it's weird, we're 7-0-1 away & neutral but 4-3-3 at home.  that's for a top 5 team in the country, unable to really take care of biz at home.  however, come postseason time when you might be on the road a lot, it can be encouraging.  we might not be though if we land a high seed.  the top rpi will help, the poor conference showing not so much.

 

if the buckeyes beat the wolverines as they should, currently up 1-0, we'll be the 5-seed.  we won the tournament last year as a 5-seed, certainly have the personnel do it again.
