Apparently they're playing football at Andy Mohr and not softball.  First game of the Hoosier Classic between Saint Francis and Ohio and the final score was 19-18 in favor of Saint Francis.  Ohio scored 7 runs in the 2nd; Saint Francis scored 10 in the 4th and the teams combined for 32 hits.   lol

Sounds like they're throwing batting practice.

Our Hoosiers take care of Toledo 9 - 6, but it wasn't a good outing from Tara Trainer.  She only pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up 5 hits, 5 BB and 5 earned runs.  She was relieved by Emily Goodin who got the 'W' pitching 2 1/3 inning and Natalie Foor pitched the final 2 innings and got the Save.  We only had 7 hits but benefited from 5 walks.  Bella Norton with the hot bat going 2-2 and driving in 5 runs.  Maddie Westmoreland went 2-3 and drove in 2 runs.  Our second game against Ohio U. is getting ready to start.

Ladies lose to Ohio U. 4-1.  Not a good day for our starting pitchers.  Natalie Foor started game 2 and only lasted 2 innings giving up 4 hits (1 double and 2 solo shots) and 4 runs (2 earned).  Emily Goodin pitched the last 5 innings allowing 4 hits and no runs.  We could only muster 3 hits, one of which was a solo homer by Annika Baez.  We'll try again tomorrow at 3:00 against Northwestern.

In the first of 2 games today, IU Ladies crush Saint Francis 13-6 as we pounded out 12 hits including 4 home runs.  2 by Juvia Davis and 1 each from Grayson Radcliffe and Annika Baez.   Davis and Radcliffe each had grand slams.  Emily Goodin started and pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up 3 hits and 4 runs.  She was relieved by Natalie Foor who pitched 1/3 of an inning and Tara Trainer finished it up allowing just 1 hit in 3 innings.  Trainer (17-3) gets the win.  Our last game of the weekend against Ohio U. will start shortly.

B1G season underway as I type with IU on the road for a 3-game road trip to Columbus, OH and the Dougheyes.  We've played 2 innings and fortunately only trail 4-3 as Ohio State left the bases loaded in the bottom of the 2nd as Trainer recorded her first K to end the inning.   Trainer has given up 2 hits, 4 BB and allowed 3 earned runs.  We've committed 2 errors allowing the 4th O$U run to score.   Baez has a solo home run and Westmoreland drove in 2 runs with a double.   Baez now homered in 3 straight games and in 4 of her last 5.

We tied it up in the top of the 3rd as Baez drives in another run with a double.  Goodin now on the mound and she too is struggling already giving up a hit and a walk and no outs for O$U.  Escaped the inning with no damage.  Tied at 4 after 3 innings.

Goodin gets out of a bit of a jam in the bottom of the 6th and we move to the 7th with IU still down 5-3.  Norton, Baez and Radcliffe need to make something happen.

But they don't as we go 3 up and 3 down.  Try again tomorrow.
