Some Q&A inside.

The fifth ranked player in Indiana's 2016 class had a breakout performance at this year's Future Games pitching for Team Indiana in the third game of the event vs. Team Illinois.  The 6-foot-3, 185 pound southpaw sat 85-86 in his two innings of work, but it was his curveball that garnered all of the attention. The 76-78 mph curveball breaks at a 2/8 angle with sharp bite and is a legitimate swing-and-miss pitch.

Not only did Saalfrank display his strong pitchability, but he showcased athleticism, fielding four balls to both his left and right and turning them into outs.

PBR: What were your stats last spring at Heritage?

Saalfrank: Last spring, my record was 7-2, 1.92 ERA, 115 k's, 28 walks, and gave up 37 hits in 62 innings pitched.

The Indiana Outlaws will roll into second-annual Prep Baseball Report Labor Day Challenge this weekend with one of the best collection of 2016 arms in the Midwest. An impressive feat, considering the Outlaws are a relative newcomer on the high-level travel baseball scene.

LHP Andrew Saalfrank (Heritage HS, IN) was arguably the biggest riser at the Future Games. The 6-foot-3 Saalfrank showcased the top breaking ball at the event to go along with an easy 85-87 mph fastball. Shortly after the Future Games, Saalfrank committed to Indiana. Saalfrank is currently ranked No. 30 overall.

Indiana Outlaws’ Schedule:

Saturday, 4:30 p.m. vs. Rawlings Hitters at UIC
Saturday, 7 p.m. vs. Southern Illinois All-Stars at UIC
Sunday, 11:30 a.m. vs. GRB Rays at Chicago State
Sunday, 4:30 p.m. vs. Top Tier at Chicago State

Another no-no for one of our guys last night. A quick check and I think this is at least his 3rd one. We will need some pitching next year. This kid and Szynski may contribute.

PBR Indiana Daily Roundup - May 19 games.

- Andrew Saalfrank, Heritage: No hitter, seven innings, 15 strikeouts.
